Finances

How is everyone handling their finances? Are you just going to have one account with your husband or are you going to have a joint account and separate accounts?

we're going to have a joint checking for house bills and a savings, but probably each keeping a separate account too.

we have a joint checking account...we are both accountants and the last thing we both need are multiple accounts to reconcile every month...lol

right now, we have a joint checking and joint savings, and then each of us has an old account in our name from before we were married. he needs his opened still because his job has yet to change his direct deposit to his new account, so his check goes in every other weeek very annoying.
I have an account open in my old last name still because i havent' completely changed my name in all aspects of my life, so it's nice to have one open just in case.
Most likely, we'll keep it this way for a while

We are going to have a joint account to pay for the vacations we take and the other stuff we like to do. We don't really have any joint household bills. I pay for the phone and DSL lines. He pays for groceries. Other than that, we don't pay for much as a couple.

Oh, we are also close to saving to buy our vacation house in Orlando, so I guess the joint account will go toward that as well.
