Tierras Colombianas is DELICIOUS!!! Theres a great Cuban/Chinese place a block up from it that we frequent. Its called Nuevo Jardin de China and they have the most amazing steak and onions and shrimps...Im getting hungry!! How about Taverna Kyclades on Ditmars!! People troop there from Manhattan!!

I also love pollos a la brasa mario, their rotisserie chicken is great. 718 is real good, L'incontro and many others

OMG! I love pollos a la brasa mario and l'incontro. I pass by 718 everyday but have never eaten there. Its French food right?? Watawa has great sushi. I cant believe they had the nerve to say Astoria doesnt have good food! Thats just insane! Ditmars alone has tons of great food!

718 is a mix of spaniard and french food, but then again they have things like ecuadorian ceviche, crab cakes, hanger steak...def not typical french type food...the food is DEELICIOUS!!!, Joe and I have gone there for dinner but we also like going for their brunch

Sorry to crash, but I just wanted to share ... I started playing on this at work, and my coworker Carlo asked me to look up his name. It's not suitable for work, but let's just say it was a very uncomfortable/funny moment, especially since he's a coworker!

I just read it!! That def makes for an uncomfortable moment

I just read it too, that is too funny but yeah see your point

Ha, tell me about it. I basically turned red and started cracking up as he basically crawled back to his desk. That's just what I need in HUGE font on my work computer screen!

Re: Find out the definition of your neighborhood LOL

I did my name and came up with:

CHRISTINE

1983 movie about the car that came alive and tore sh!t up. killed tons of people, and was an overall badass.

Hell hath no Fury...like Christine.

You better f*ckin believe it

Then there was this, less interesting definition:

CHRISTINE

Christine from the word Christian, also from the Greek word Christos.

Then it goes on to say...

my name is Christine! with an 'E' not Christina with an 'A'! why do people always call me the one with the 'A'.

The. Best. I can't even tell you how many times I've said that!

Re: Find out the definition of your neighborhood LOL

- so true.

Bellport was established in 1842 by French/Dutch Settlers. What started off as a good idea soon became home to Isabella Rosellini and her black garments that she wraps herself in (like a mummy) so that no sunlight will touch her regal body, a summer home for Madonna (cancelled, May '03), a stomping grounds for bands such as The Beatless, Alopecia, The Pillow Biters, SGT (summer '02), and excessive banter.

The hot spot in Bellport is most likely the four corners. This is where people gather to pace around, choose whether they want to go to the deli, pizza place, or grocery store, smoke cigarettes, talk about things, skateboard, cavort with cohorts and acquaintances, talk about the failing business Kitchen and Coffee, gossip about rich people (see: old WASPs), and play backgammon.

1. Rancho Bernardo 77 up, 10 down

A city located within 'the bubble.' A place where lots of old retired people live. Broomstickings and thong checkings are encouraged at RBHS. The rich people live in the trails and the only thing open past ten is the rite aid in the neighboring town of CMR.

alex trebec: where does the largest population of old people in the US like to hang out?
contestant: what is the VONS in RB

This is soooo true! I love it!!! ahaha

this is where we live now...

Franklin Square
214 up, 35 down

A town in Nassau County, Long Island populated by lots of Italian Americans and their children who are commonly referred to as 'guidos' because the males dress in 'wife beaters' and gold crosses and prance around town like Tony Soprano or perhaps God's gift to women. They attend H. Frank Carey high school. Their language is a strange mix of Italian dialect and hip hop speak.

ehhhhhhy, fuggghhetttabbboutttit, im from Franklin Square yo. Lets go to the club and find underage girls and drive them around in our parents expensive cars. word.

STATEN ITALY:

The forgotten borough

Steve: Isn't Harlem a borough?
Justin: No, staten island is.
Steve: What's staten island?

1) Receptical of New York City's garbage (paper, plastic and human)
2) A place where the makeup is thick and the accents are thicker.
3) Where Italian people go to die
4) The forgotten borough of New York City

The five broughs of New York City are Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx and...and...and...Oh yeah, Staten Island.

The forgotten Borough where you've gotten into arguments with people who think Long Island is the fifth borough. You refer to Manhattan as 'the city'. You call the ferry 'the boat'. You can name all four bridges. Denino's Pizza and Ralph's Ices are the best summertime treats ---and you will wait on line for 45 minutes just for a vanilla chip ice! You've gone sledding at Latourette. There is only one mall... and it's called 'the mall.' It takes you a half hour to get to your friend's house... and they live less than a mile away. You know it's Prince's Bay, not Princess Bay. You would never swim in the water here. At least one of your relatives is fluent in Italian.
You or someone you know has more than one matching velour sweat suits in their closet. You can smell the dump from your house but you're so used to the smell that you don't notice it anymore. You've gotten into a screaming match over a parking spot. Someone you know has a lifetime membership to Tanning Loft. Everyone you know claims to be 'connected.' You've hung out in a parking lot. You know the difference between Richmond Rd., Richmond Ave., and Richmond Terrace. You know that 'Mike' owns all the good diners. You refer to every highway on the island as 'The Expressway.' You've been cut off by a souped up Honda Accord with earth shaking bass playing. You have chased someone for cutting you off just to give them the finger. A development of townhouses has recently sprung up in your neighborhood. The shocks in your car are shot because you hit pot holes every 2 feet. You have the need to look at the people in the car next to you when stopped at a red light to see if it someone you know. You know never to walk on South Beaches sand with out Shoes. You've seen Method Man in the Mall at least once. The Monastery and Sea View aren't scary, just another place to drink. You own a North Face jacket. Everybody and their mother has a Nextel. You wave at the weird leg guy when you pass the North Shore, and sometimes he waves back.

In Staten Island even the guys get their eyebrows waxed.

Re: Find out the definition of your neighborhood LOL

aww my name is nice

Jennifer

Stemmed from the name Guinevere; used to name a human of the female gender generally regarded by the public as an icon or example of independence and eloquence. Although this regal being may appear to have as much intelligence and imagination as the norm, if she was to be excavated one would discover that there is far more mystery and romance, (not being used in the sense of love and relationships, but an artful passion for life itself) to this woman than what could be learned in a life time.

If I slaved to discover what lay beneath the deepest of oceans, I would have to search forever to reveal what lay hidden in the veils of Jennifer's soul.

4. williamsburg 21 up, 7 down

A neighborhood in Brooklyn. A gentrification hotspot. Mostly made up of Jews, Dominicans, Puerto Ricans, other hispanics, and a hint of Italians and Poles near the northern tip. Was considered THE robbery hotspot during the 80's. Now you see condos arising and pinker/whiter flesh arriving. From rednecks to Afrikaners.

This once beautiful neighborhood is now going to diminish with this gentrification crap. I smell a revolution in the mix...

. williamsburg 17 up, 2 down

1. neigborhood in borough of brooklyn, ny, where many wealthy out of state young people move to live in overpriced filthy industrial lofts, eat organic vegetarian food, ride bikes, drink beer, spend as much money as possible to look as disheveled as possible, and pretend to be poor.

2.most annoying place in the continental united states.

1. Williamsburg 55 up, 13 down

A part of Brooklyn known for its hipster population. North Williamsburg (near the L train) is generally filled with trustafarians, overpriced bars, and vintage clothing stores, where South Williamsburg (near the JMZ train) is still home to a large Hasidic and Hispanic population.
