Finding the Perfect Dress

Where did you buy your dress???

I'm just getting started and don't know where to begin. There are sooooooooo many dresses that are nice and look very similiar.

Which bridal stores did you go to first??? I live in Manhattan but shop in LI and Westchester often.

I'm so afraid of buying one at a trunk sale to be dissatisfied.

Try RK Bridal and Kleinfelds. That'll give you a pretty full spectrym of what is out there.

I live in NJ and bought my dress here (no sales tax too!!! )

I went with a number of pictures but the bridal shop owner could just look at meand knew exactly what would be well suited for me.

you just need to try on, try on, try on....and try on some dresses that you might not have normally picked out for yourself, because you might be surprised. I never thought I would like a sweetheart neckline, but when I tried my dress on I fell in love. Give some different styles a try.

Also, you will likely try on alot of very beutiful dresses but not feel wowed by them. keep looking until you find THE ONE. i all but gave up and was going to pick a dress i thought was very pretty and flattering but did not feel like it was the one, then on a whim went to one more bridal salon to try on dresses and found my dream dress.

I got my dress at Lilettes in Baldwin. They were great. I also had a great experience at the Bridal Garden in Bethpage.

I went to Bridal Reflections in Carle Place, Elegant Bride, Wedding Salon of Manhasset, Priscilla of Boston, Bridal Couture, Bridal Accent and Iman Bridal Couture (wooh - long list).

I actually got my dress at Iman - I had a very tough time finding THE ONE, saw lots of pretty pretty dresses but was not wowed until I got to Iman. My advice is to try on everything although I new I did not want beading or lace so that helped me cut down the search. In terms of silhouettes, I would be very non-discriminating. And give it time, Iman was the LAST place I went to and I found the dress of my dreams!

I bought my dress at Bridal Reflections in Massapequa,and they were wonderful to me throughout the whole process, I wish they treated my bm's well, but that is a whole other story. I had gone to Lillettes in Baldwin, Bridal Center of Lynbrook and David's Bridal where I had a panic attack.

I love it too. They were so nice there...but they don't have returns. I'm not sure where does though.

I bought mine at Kleinfeld in Manhattan and they are amazing, the service is incredible and they will work with you until you find something you love (it's not cheap though). I rec. going to some other shops first like RK Bridal or other local to you and getting a feel for whats out there by trying on a lot and then if you go to Kleinfeld you'll see the difference.
