Fine China-Yay or Nay

Fine China-Yay or Nay

I'm starting to think about what we will be registering for, and the more I think about it the more I don't think I will ever get use out of expensive china. I think we will go w/ a nice casualware set instead. What is everyone else doing?

Yea that's what I figured. I asked all my married friends and they said they haven't used it once so far lol

I want china but its cause i know i'm going to use it. I love dinner parties. If you dont think you'd ever use the stuff then its a waste

China is expensive so if you don't think you are going to use it then I wouldn't register for it.

I just can't see myself ever using it. I think I'm going to register for just nice white plated for when we have company.

if youre not going to use it then, no

but there are lots of 'fine china' that can be used every day- you can register for an expensive set, that isn't fancy

IMO...Id want to register for things Id never buy myself

I personally can do without the spatulas, blenders, toaster, coffee pots, etc

and much rather have people buy me the china, pretty frames, glassware etc

but i depends on the person

I say yay only bc i can see myself using it.

I love having dinner parties and would also like to eventually host holidays at my house.

butttt if you dont think you will ever use it then dont get it

Personally, I'd say skip it. Register for nice dinnerware that are casual enough for every day dinning and nice enough for special dinners

I registered for both and my parents already bought my fine china. I love to entertain and can see myself hosting alot of holiday dinners at my house.

If you dont think your going to use it then dont register for it. You can always buy it later

ITA-- we arent registering for it...but if you think you are gonna use it go for it...if not register for stuff you can def use

personally, i love it and can't waittttt to get mine! but like the other girls said its bc i want to have dinner parties and one day host holidays.

if you don't see yourself using it and have a lot of other things to register for, I'd say skip it or register for bone china that is just plain. Our friends didn't want to register for 2 sets of plates bc they needed a lot of stuff, so they just got plain white bone china from crate and barrel that can go either way - every day or fine china...

Gotta remember this...it's more affordable to efford casual dinning-ware, so def opt to have expensice china!

i feel like i have this convo every day lol. i say YES. when will you go out and buy yourself fine china? NEVER!! thats like saying 'i'll go to the gym on monday'

I know it's a good point, I was just concerned we wouldn't get as much of the other things on our registry that we would use everyday like sheets, towels, etc. bc those things are pricey too.
