I'm starting to think about what we will be registering for, and the more I think about it the more I don't think I will ever get use out of expensive china. I think we will go w/ a nice casualware set instead. What is everyone else doing?
I love to entertain, but I will never use fine china! If anything I would want two sets of everyday!

We're not doing fine china ... We are thinking of doing two sets of casual. One patterned and then one white so we can dress it up with tablecloths/napkins and center pieces if we do a holiday!
Besides if I break a piece I WILL have a heart attack!
We decided that we are not going to register for fine china, just everyday dinnerware. Since we will both be moving into our first place together, we have absolutely nothing and bare necessites are a must!!!! I would get alot more use out of a good set of knives and some good pots and pans.
FH's grandmother is giving us her old china (which I am sure we will never use and just display it in a china cabinet) but we are not registering for fine china, maybe just a casual set. I don't see us ever using super expensive fine china.

ITA. You can buy your own casual china, let people buy you the fancy stuff!
I think I'd register for both a really nice casual set that you could use at everday and is nice enough for casual dinner parties and a nice but not too over top set of fine china for hosting holidays or more formal dinner party.
I just registered this past weekend and totally skipped the fine china.. to me, it's not worth it because i'll never use it. lol
