Re: Fire Island bachelorette party
I am actually doing my Bachelorette party on fire island...we rented a house on Ocean Bay Park. I really don't know the price of it or anything, but I know the house sleeps 14 people, and then you can bring air mattress and what not. I know Ocean Beach is a good place to go and also Ocean Bay Park. If you do plan on renting a house like us, I would def look real soon, being that they quickly get rented out for a weekend.

Re: Fire Island bachelorette party
I hosted my friend's bachelorette party in Fire Island. It was a blast. It is actually what I wanted to do but the timing didnt work out (3 of my bridesmaids were pregnant this summer). We stayed at the Fire Island Hotel in Ocean Bay Park. There was a two or three night minimum. They actually have an apartment that you can rent and it was pretty reasonable if I remember correctly.
We made a dinner at Flynns and ate and went out there one of the nights. The other night we walked to Ocean CBeach and went out over there.

I'm having my bachelorette party there! I'm not planning it, but all I know is that it will be a weekend in July, and they rented either a house, or rooms at The Palms in Ocean Beach!

I worked on FI every summer since I was 15 (not going back this year though). If you are looking to drink and bar hop then Ocean Beach is where you want to go. It has the most activity and bars. There's also a TON of shopping to do during the day along with the beach. I would recommend McGuires for dinner. I'm not a seafood person, but their food is amazing. Plus you can sit outside on right on the water. If you have any other questions, dont't hestitate to FM & I'll answer to the best of my ability!

IMO I think it's better than AC, especially in the Summer since you'll be outside the whole time. It's nice and relaxing and you have that feeling of 'being away' since no cars are allowed and you have to take the ferry (or any other boat) to get there.
