So after reading a lot of great reviews about Dusti from Fire Monkey Hair I had a trial with her this week. I thought I liked it that night but the more thought I've given it the past few days, I realized I didn't feel like, 'wow! I loved my hair!' So, after signing the contract I'm now second-guessing my decision. I was not in love with my hair and I was chalking it up to that 'oh the trial is never as good as the wedding day will be/she'll make sure it's perfect that day' ~ but now I'm uneasy about using her. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE anyone who had already used her share your experiences with her and if you truly loved the end result! I'm getting nervous I may have made a mistake! Also, share pictures! TIA

I had Dusti do my hair for my wedding. The trial was definitely a rough draft in comparison to the day of hair. The day of she took her time and made sure that my hair was nice and finished looking. She was punctual, calming, and just fun to have around. She did 3 completely different things for myself, my mom and my sister, and we all looked great! I loved having her do my hair, and I would highly recommend her.

I had a trial with Dusti and I thought she was really a sweetheart. She just wasn't the best match for me.
I literally did 4-5 trials with stylists until I found the right one for me. And, it's impossible to know exactly how it will go. You have to rely on your instincts.
I would do some more trials until you feel you have found the one. After another trial or two, you may end up thinking Dusti is perfect for you after all!

Your trial should look the way you want it on your day, not a rough draft. I had a trial with someone else and she took the time to create the look I wanted. I think you should trust your gut. You have to love the way it looks or you wont feel comfortable

Im using Dusti and I love her! If you want to change something with your trial she can just adjust it for you. You can actually cancel just check your contract. I personally love her so much that she actually colors and cuts my hair now.

Hi, this EXACT same thing happened to me about 2 weeks ago. I was losing sleep over the fact that I wasn't 100% confident in my hair. So, I canceled my contract with the woman I originally went with and went for another trial with Kara Tosiello and it was the best decision I've made so far! My makeup artist, Christy Ann Cosmetics suggested I try her. I was so happy and am beyond confident in her. She spent so much time with me and didn't stop playing around with my hair until it was what I wanted. She made it better than I imagined in my head and I recommend her 100%.

I met with Dusti for a trial and really clicked with her, but i ended up really loving someone else and didn't go with her. She's incredibly talented, i think you should contact her first and see if she'll give you another trial to see if maybe it was just the hairstyle that you didn't like.

If not, go for some other trials. I went on 4 (i know, i know) and ended up going with Beautiful Brides by Lauren. She's awesome.

This is what happened to me with FMH. I liked her very much, but it just didn't work for me.
I went with Gretchen at M.A.L.I. She does makeup and hair and spent HOURS with me and then drove me to the train! Talk about customer service! LOL
She just seemed to be the most professional of all my trials, and I had 6 in total!
It's such a personal thing. But you don't want to even be worrying about this the day of.

I was about to book Fire Monkey Hair Design from afar - she was responsive to my e-mails and I had read such rave reviews (I can't get there for a trial anytime soon) but now you guys have me nervous! Who did you prefer to her? And any particular reason? (more long lasting, etc.?)

I had my trial with Dusti today and she was phenomenal! I know a lot has been said lately about her trials, but I honestly don't know what they are talking about. Dusti is very easy to get along with and does amazing work! As soon as my trial was over, I booked her on the spot because she really is that great. If you are wondering whether or not you should do a trial with her or if you have anything to worry about, I am here to ease your minds and tell u absolutely not. She will make you and your ladies absolutely gorgeous on your day while at the same time putting u at ease and making u laugh! She is definitely one of my favorite vendors I have booked so far and I cannot wait to work with her on my wedding day!!! even after sleeping on my hair last night it still looks great today!
