Has anyone ever had fireworks during their reception. The FOB is on this firework kick, but me and my FH don't want to take too much time away from the reception.

Re: Fireworks???
I think that would be lovely! I don't think it's a reality for us (just because of where our venue is located), but doing it right before the venetian hour or after the cake cutting probably wouldn't take too much away from the reception.

Re: Fireworks???
I looked into it for my wedding...since its 4th of july i felt like we HAD to have it...BUT they said it would be 5,000 without a barge, but we would need one to set them off on the water (if not we would need a huge empty space to let them off) then we would have to add the barge for another 5,000- all for 4 minutes. My dreams were crushed. Now Im just hoping that we'll just get lucky and see them- with someone else footing the bill!

Re: Fireworks???
if you are thinking fireworks as in sparklers and such indoors, you have to be careful because I don't think thoes are legal anymore in NY. My aunt had them done for my cousins about 10 years ago and they were pretty but we were told we can't do them for ours.

Re: Fireworks???
you cant really do them in New york, they have to be done off the water and even then most areas in ny wont allow it. You would have to get the community to agree upon it, and i forgot the exact law but there cant be anything residential around
average price is about $10k-12 for 5-7 mins if you are able to get them to permit it

we looked into it, because we wanted a 4th of July wedding but it's next to impossible here in New York and wayyy too expensive.

We're having a 4th of July wedding too and FH sooo wanted to have it too. I'm sure if we just look up we'll see plenty!

Re: Fireworks???
We got a good price. My Dad is a fire marshall and have all the codes and everything, so it can be done, but I just don't know if it would take too much time for everyone to walk outside, watch them then walk back inside?

Re: Fireworks???
we weren't allowed to use fireworks so we lit sparklers with the bridal party....also gave them away as favors with our donation cards.
