First Day Dress Shopping

I am going dress shopping for the first time tonight! I'm so excited! Any suggestions?

Good luck. All I suggest is to keep your mind open. Maybe even try on one dress that you did not have in mind. You never know what you will find.

As far as places my top pics:
Angel Brides in East Islip
Lidia's in Copaigue
Lilletes in Baldwin
Bayshore Bridal in Bayshore

As far as dresses.. try every styel on once like do one or two ballgowns, one or two trumpets, one or two different a-lines, etc. Different cuts and necklines to figure out what really sticks out in your head. The more you go back to a particular style or dress after a number of times you can narrow it down to your dress Good Luck!!!

Good luck! My advice is don't let the first trip out discourage you if you don't see anything you like.

The first place I went to didn't even have ONE dress for me to try on (I didn't want strapless or halter).. it took some time, but eventually I found my dress!

Good Luck!!! Do keep an open mind. I did and I found 'the one' thinking I wouldn't like it and I fell in love with it. Keep us updated on how it goes.

Good luck! Try to take pictures if they'll let you because it's easy to forget exactly how a dress fit you after you've left the bridal shop. Oh and have fun!!!!!!!!

Re: First Day Dress Shopping

Hi All...Thanks for the great advice. I didn't see anything I was even remotely interested in for myself but I found BM dresses that I LOVED!

And to formally introduce myself...
My name is Kate and my FHs name is Kurt (so cheesy I know, but it's not like we planned it!). We have a pretty complicated 'engagement' if that's even what you want to call it, but I'll give you the nutshell version.

I decided that I wanted him not to buy me a ring so that we could use that money towards the down payment of our condo. Then my mother and father gave him my grandmother's engagement ring (she passed away a few years ago) to give to me. (the ring is a big deal for my dad's side of the family) FHs job was to have it resized/reset/whatever and I'm still waiting. We've known for about a year that we were going to get married in '08 so we started visiting places, fell in love with one place in particular and booked it with our parents by our side! We only booked last month so I am in the very beginning stages of this and to be honest...I'm scared! It's great to know how helpful and supportive you all are...You'll definitely see me on here asking a billion+ questions.

I'll keep you updated on the ring situation. And I'm going dress shopping at Lidia's in Copiague tomorrow, hopefully that goes a little better than today for me!

Thanks again!
