Hi All...Thanks for the great advice. I didn't see anything I was even remotely interested in for myself but I found BM dresses that I LOVED!

And to formally introduce myself...
My name is Kate and my FHs name is Kurt (so cheesy I know, but it's not like we planned it!). We have a pretty complicated 'engagement' if that's even what you want to call it, but I'll give you the nutshell version.

I decided that I wanted him not to buy me a ring so that we could use that money towards the down payment of our condo. Then my mother and father gave him my grandmother's engagement ring (she passed away a few years ago) to give to me. (the ring is a big deal for my dad's side of the family) FHs job was to have it resized/reset/whatever and I'm still waiting. We've known for about a year that we were going to get married in '08 so we started visiting places, fell in love with one place in particular and booked it with our parents by our side! We only booked last month so I am in the very beginning stages of this and to be honest...I'm scared! It's great to know how helpful and supportive you all are...You'll definitely see me on here asking a billion+ questions.

I'll keep you updated on the ring situation. And I'm going dress shopping at Lidia's in Copiague tomorrow, hopefully that goes a little better than today for me!

its not complicated, at least i dont think so...Theres other girls on here who were waiting for a custom made ring, to be resized or something like that so youre not the only one. Besides the ring isn't what shows your love for eachother, its actions and the fact that youre even planning your wedding shows he wants to spend the rest of his life with you.
