So i went tonight to try on my dress, i was happy with how it looked and loved it, except its too short!!! It had to be measured hollow to hem, and it was measured and inch too short, and it came in a 1/2 inch too short, even with a smaller heel it doesn't look right, I was annoyed with the seamstress she kept telling me once its pressed it will drop lower, but thankfully one of the salesgirl agreed with us and got the owner, they are going to callthe company and try to get a new one, they claim it can be done in a week, girls wish me luck, my wedding is in 49 days and i am freaking out, here is a picture, look at the bottom

hey dress twin!! i'm sooo sorry to hear. I'll keep my fingers crossed ur other one comes in on time. U look great in it by the way. Just curious, if you don't mind, how tall are u and what size did u order? I just want to make sure i don't have the same problem.

thank you, i got the dress in staten island, i am 5'4 the seamstress originally measured me to need 54' with a 2 3/4' heel the dress came in 53 1/2', the remeasured me today and said it should be 55'
i just pray it comes in

Yeah something's up - I'm only 5'2 and I was measured just today to be 55 inches during my hollow to hem measurement... I'm wearing a 3 inch heal so it makes sense... my seamstress did 3 measurements on me and one separate of my shoe to make sure she got the same 55 inches every time....
I hope it works out... It's a very pretty dress...

Honestly, I would be upset too. At least the owner of the store got involved and is on your side. It is a beautiful dress.

Hi dress twin and almost date twin (1 day apart). I have not even gone to get my first fitting yet. I guess I should get on the ball with that. Where did you get your dress from? Did you get it fitted at the same place? I got my dress from Commack WC but I am not getting any alterations done there b/c they are infamous for ruining dresses. I am very nervous now about alterations. YIKES! Let us know what happens. GOOD LUCK!!!!

I had a similar situation, but they just kept saying it was fine. You shouldn't be able to see a bride's whole shoe. I ended up finally just giving in and getting really flat shoes.

we are dress twins too -
and my dress just came in - and i got a hollow to hem - i am trying it on wednesday - so if its wrong i am going i am going to freak!
