First Fitting - UPDATE

Well girls it turns out that I didn't have my first fitting last night after all. They ordered the wrong dress!!! How crazy is that. For anyone in doubt about ordering their dress early, all I can say is ORDER IT EARLY! I am SO thankful that I have a year until the wedding. The store is of course fixing it, and the dress should come in September. Crazy!

Valentina Bridal in Brooklyn. Don't get me wrong I LOVE them, but it was definitely a serious oversight on their part. The girl that had originally wrote it up for me only put down the first 4 numbers of the style instead of the 6 it required. Three different dresses have those first 4 numbers, hence the problem. They are fixing it without issue though, so I'm not worried.

Mind you, I'm a year out from the wedding. If this was a few months, THEN I'd freak.

wow thank goodness....and it seems like your calm about the situation....when i go next friday if thats the wrong dress regardless of how much time i have, i would flip on them!

My MOH was going a little nutty. So, I had to be calm. If it wasn't this far away, I probably would've flipped.

OMG! Crazy!

When my sister got married 9 years ago, she ordered the dress a year in advance, and it took FOREVER to come in - and when it finally came in it was a size 2 and she ordered a 12!!!!!!!!!!!! Here she was 6 weeks (YES 6 WEEKS) before the wedding without a dress - Thank god she went to another bridal salon and they were able to get her a new dress (totally different) in that time frame

i ordered my dress from Valentina too. i love them but this actually happened when i was in a bridal party over the summer. someone ordered all the wrong bridesmaid dresses. luckily we ordered early & where able to get the correct dress in on time with no hassle.

This happens all the time with them! i had a terrible experience with them when looking for wedding dresses and haven't been back since. They should be more careful when placing orders because their lack of attention will cost them customers. I hope everything works out!

I had people laugh when I ordered my dress a year in advance.
They laughed harder when it came in 6 weeks later.
It's paid for and in right size waiting for final fitting.

I think that has made me breathe easy the most.

I say the dress is so important. SO glad the OP has more time!
