first looks vs. down the aisle (xpost from 2014)

who is doing the 'first look' photos? and who is doing the waiting till the ceremony to see each other??

I want FH to decide this because I'm really okay with either of them.

I read THIS article and I like this idea. But really its whatever FH wants <3

So what are all of YOU ladies doing??

first looks vs. down the aisle (xpost from 2014)

we are doing a first look. i want to enjoy my cocktail hour! also, this frees us up to say some hellos at CH and relax a little more at the reception. we didn't want a lot of time between ceremony and CH either bc we hate having a lot of time in between when we go to weddings.

We're saving it for the church. I'm pretty traditional. I want that anticipation as I walk down the aisle. PLUS - everyone looks at the groom to see his reaction. I want it to be a true first reaction. We left a good amount of time for pictures between the ceremony and CH. We figured the guests can go back to the hotel and pre-game. (which is what we usually do.)

Doing it at the church. I don't really like the idea of a first look, although I do understand why a lot of people are opting for it. I'm nontraditional in a lot of ways, but not for that lol.

Re: first looks vs. down the aisle (xpost from 2014)

we will not be seeing each other until walking down the aisle at the church... i can't wait for that moment walking down the aisle. that is always one of my favorite things at weddings, seeing the look on the groom's face when he sees the bride for the first time

first looks vs. down the aisle (xpost from 2014)

We are doing a first look. We are non traditional and are getting married at our RH. For us attending our own cocktail hour was non-negotiable as it is our absolute favorite part of weddings. Plus I LOVE the idea of our own quiet private first moments together. I really think it will help with my nerves and emotions walking down the aisle. It really comes down to personal decision though, you have to do what works best for you and FH.

FH will not be seeing me until I walk down the aisle. We are getting married at our RH. We will do bridal party & family pics before ceremony. After the ceremony we will do pics together alone and with the family. I don't care about missing my cocktail hour. The RH will have food set up in the Bridal Suite for us snack on between pics.

first looks vs. down the aisle (xpost from 2014)

We did a first look, and I don't regret it at all. The moment of the first looks was special, and we have both our families there with us. Then, we got all the photos over with and during daylight (November wedding at 6pm). The whole night flew by and I felt like I barely had time to see all my guests, so I happy to be at cocktail hour with my guests before trying to enjoy the reception (while taking a few additional photos with guests).

Walking down the aisle was still special too, because a) I was walking down the aisle with my dad, b) I walked into a room full of all the people myself and my husband love, c) I was walking up that aisle to get MARRIED to the man I love. I really don't think the adrenaline/excitement could have been more, even if it were the first the time he saw me. Really, the whole moment was surreal and amazing.

We are not doing a first look but I have seen pics and it still looks very special and cute. I just always wanted him to see me first walking down the aisle in church. We have 3.5 hours between church and CH so we are taking pictures then.
