This is really tough to type this as I'm thinking about it. It's really hurting me. Right now this is supposed to be the happiest time of my life and now it's shattered. Even now with the upcoming job and move, it doesn't mean anything anymore.
After dropping off my best friend/MOH at work (we work 2 blocks away), I got a call and it was Rob. He told me to sit down for this as he is ready to tell me what is going on. He's got colon cancer! He's been having it for a few months but hid it from me because he doesn't want me to be stressed or be a burden to him. He now felt now is the right time to tell me this but even with this it is breaking his spirits. He told me that is as if G-d played a trick on him just as things are now in place. The doctors told him it has advanced to his stomach. I'm litterly crying about this because I feel as if he is giving up and I want him to fight for this. I already had dealt with this before and sadly that person died too. I don't want to lose the love of my life to this either. I'm trying to be strong but I can't.

Oh hon - i am so sorry. I'm crying as I write this...
You know now why he's been so distant...and he's finally told you - that is something...
Now - what are the doctors saying they are going to do? This is exactly what happened to my MOH's dad a few years back & he is 100% fine now...it CAN happen!!!!! He's living proof!!!
What they did for him was they put some type of radioactive thingies into his colon & stomach & it killed the cancer. I'm not a doctor or nurse - but i know he had that type of treatment. Back then it was very experimental....i don't think it is anymore.

I am soo unbelievably sorry for you and your fiance. I will definitely keep him, you and his family in my thoughts and prayers!!!
I can't even begin to imagine what you are going through right now but please stay strong andhave high hopes and positive attitudes. With him seeing oyu will a positive attitude it will help him stay positive and fight his way through this!!!!! My grandma is actually fighting stomach cancer and hse is pulling through so far and she is 78....I believe your FH can do it as well!!! STAY STRONG!!!

I am so sorry to hear this. I know it must be extremely difficult to be so far away from him during this.
As many of the girls have said, stay strong for him and help him stay positive. I know it is not always easy but get yourself there if he can't come here. Being with each other is what you both need right now.

Oh my God, I am SO sorry. This is just devestating, you are allowed to cry and you should cry - don't keep it pent up inside. Have you guys discussed his treatment options? Maybe you can be the most supportive by helping him through the treatment he needs and making sure he knows all of his options. I am praying for you!

I am so sorry to hear this!! But as other girls have mentioned - colon cancer is curable!! Sometimes just after surgery
Is there any way that he could come back to NY - we have the top cancer hospitals right here and he should take advantage of them!

I agree with most everyone else. You have to stay positive and stay strong for your FH. i think going to visit him is a good idea. Just take care of yourself and let us know what we can do for you.

So terribly sorry to hear the news. You are an increadibly strong person and so is your FH. I know that together you two can face the situtation and through the love and devotion you two share you can find the positive in this sad time. I always believe that it is best to find the positive and grow from there. We are all here for you!!!

Seriously, ladies thank you for all this.
I decided that instead of fixing up the house, I'm going to go there (even though he doesn't want me to go) and be with him for a few days before I start the job. I am also going to postpone the wedding indefinetely! I really don't want to but his health is top priorty.
