This is really tough to type this as I'm thinking about it. It's really hurting me. Right now this is supposed to be the happiest time of my life and now it's shattered. Even now with the upcoming job and move, it doesn't mean anything anymore.
After dropping off my best friend/MOH at work (we work 2 blocks away), I got a call and it was Rob. He told me to sit down for this as he is ready to tell me what is going on. He's got colon cancer! He's been having it for a few months but hid it from me because he doesn't want me to be stressed or be a burden to him. He now felt now is the right time to tell me this but even with this it is breaking his spirits. He told me that is as if G-d played a trick on him just as things are now in place. The doctors told him it has advanced to his stomach. I'm litterly crying about this because I feel as if he is giving up and I want him to fight for this. I already had dealt with this before and sadly that person died too. I don't want to lose the love of my life to this either. I'm trying to be strong but I can't.

Re: FI's condition (kleenex alert)
I'm a bit scared of seeing him. I know he's in the hospital and all but I never seen him super sick before. Maybe while having a cold but not in this setting. I'm being strong and optimistic that he's going to be better but looking at him might make me crumble. I was also thinking showing him the pic of my wedding dress. I know it's bad luck but someone told me it might be what would keep him going.

Re: FI's condition (kleenex alert)
OMG.....i'm so sorry to hear this. Please tell him NOT to give up. He's young....he's at the perfect age to really fight the cancer and kick it's butt. I have a friend who was recently diagnosed with advanced stage colon cancer and he is young too (30 years)...and he's actually doing really well so far because he's young enough to tolerate the more aggressive treatments.
Having you there with him will definitely boost his morale....
I will keep him in my prayers.

Re: FI's condition (kleenex alert)
I am so sorry to hear about your future husband. Just remember to keep GOD first. This is a time where you will have to be strong for him. Only god knows what tomorrow will bring and no doctor can predict what god has in store for us. I will pray for you and I will also put in a pray request in my church. God bless you both.

Wow...I am so sorry. My prayers are with you and FH and family. I know it's hard to hear, but stay positive and try to get him thinking that way. There are almost always options and things they can do.

I think this is a good idea as long as you aren't superstitious. I think wedding planning and your devotion to him and the wedding may make it mentally easier for him to fight this. Remind him of how important it is to you for you too to do everything you can to start your future together.

Re: FI's condition (kleenex alert)
My prayers are with you and your FH. If you need someone to talk to about this feel free to FM me. My DH had testicular cancer three years ago (now in remission) and had to have surgery and numerous rounds of chemo.
