FI's parents paying for RD?

They offered and said it was tradition.....is this true? Anyone else doing this with the FI's parents paying?

My FILs are doing the same. Its traditional for the groom's parents to pay. I'd prefer if they were less traditional and paid for a few others things too but I'll take what I can get.

Yes same here, besides the RD, we are paying EVERY dime ourselves so that was a nice break for us

My FIL's are paying as well - although I'm not sure they're aware of exactly how much they cost!

Same here-- I think or they say. We also are paying for everything and this is a nice gesture

FI's parents are also paying for the RD. They also offered to pay for limos and anything else we need help with. We are so appreciative of their help! Maybe we can clone my FILs?

I know traditionally they pay for it but I don't expect it nor am I complaining about it since they gave us a very large check to use as we needed towards the wedding. If they offered I would have a hard time accepting but I could never argue with them. They are the best!!!!


Besides, who every said we did things traditionally!

It is a tradition. My FIL's are paying for it, however, that gives them free reign on the guest list and the date. So, much to my dismay, it is the week before the wedding and only the bridal party is invited (no out of towners, some of which are traveling very far to come to the wedding.) But it is nice to have one less thing to pay for and I am grateful for that.

my FIL's haven't offered but that is fine with us. We are paying for the wedding ourselves but they have already helped tremendously! My mom & stepfather are also paying for our HM.
