Fitted or puffy dress??
OK ladies.. are you wearing a puffy dress for your day, or something mostly fitted? I can't seem to decide for sure what I 'envision' myself in although I have already bought a dress :)

My dress is fitted down to mid-thigh/knee area and then it has a little flare.

Puffy! This is your wedding day! At one point I had been trying to decide between a ball gown and a trumpet. The saleswoman said it me, 'there will be other black tie events in your life when you could wear a trumpet. You will never again have the opportunity to wear a big ball gown like this.' She was totally right, I went with the ball gown, and I couldn't be more excited!

Okay so this is my take on the 'fitted' trend: I have a good figure and I tried on many fitted gowns that were pretty. However, I feel that they make everyone's hips look huge and it's just a trend. Although they make your stomachs look nice and flat, I feel like a size 00 looks like they have big hips in those dresses. I feel like that look is going to become the puffy sleeve trend of the 80s honestly. Just my opinion though.I didn't get a super puffy dress either, it was more of like a lace dropped waist a-line gown with a beaded belt. It still has a fitted top, but it falls straight at my hips rather than being fitted around them. I thought that by getting a dress like that, I would still have the fitted-ness that is still on-trend and looks very pretty, while still wearing a classic gown that won't go out of style. I also feel like those super fitted gowns look like white evening gowns and not like wedding dresses sometimes

I went with a full A-line with a dropped waist. I can add extra crinoline underneath to puff it out more if I want. I definitely wanted something with volume on the bottom because like some other girls said, your wedding is really the only time you can wear a dress with some poof!

Mine is an a-line dress so it's fitted on the top then flows out but not puffy. There is no tool making it like a ball gown and it has a long train.

Re: Fitted or puffy dress??
Although I have not been dress shopping yet I will probably get something fitted. I am petite so a ball gown would swallow me.

i'm pretty sure most people look back at their wedding dresses 20, 30, 40 years later and most are 'trendy' in some way.
i chose a more fitted dress with some flair because i feel like my hips are never accentuated - in fact i joke i have none! so in addition to flattening my stomach i look a little va va voom!

Fitted!! I knew I didn't want a ball gown, but I tried on two to be sure and it only made me further realize it was definitely not what I wanted.

Mine is a modified A-line and I love how it flatters my assets while minimizing my problem areas lol. It is fitted till the waist and then drops down with a slight flare. I am too short to pull off a ball gown (I wish I could, I tried on quite a few).

Re: Fitted or puffy dress??
Pictures of my dress are in my album. I thought I was going to want a big poofy number but I didn't feel like me. It's slighter poofier than the pictures portray but just the right amount.
