We're going to meet with our first florist today (in 1/2 hour, lol) but haven't picked out our exact colors yet - I know I want some form of blue though. Is that enough for them to know?
I just read an article on The Knot that said 'Don't even think about visiting a florist without knowing what your bridesmaids, groomsmen, and moms are wearing. There's literally no point .' So now I'm worried! Is knowing that I want blue enough or do I need to know the exact color?

i would tell them that you want blue - and im sure they can show you what they can do with the color - i brought a swatch of what my BMs were wearing - they might want a swatch of your dress - so they know if they are going with softer flowers - atleast when i shopped they wanted that - so they knew which avenue to go down

I had a maybe Idea... yu dont need to be 100% sure... but it helps a little. Worse comes to worse, you chose a color and see what they can do with that... just to get an idea of what they can do

We just booked our florist today, she asked what colors the bms were wearing and i said either pink, or brown. not sure yet. It wasn't a problem, she said i could call and let her know. All the florists said it wasn't an issue. I think if you just say some type of blue, they'll be able to work around it. Nothing is set in stone now

i made an appointment a few weeks ago and i canceled it because i couldn't wrap my brain around committing to flowers when i only knew that i wanted some of them to be yellow. the florist did seem to think she could still work with that and encouraged me to keep my appointment tho.

Yeah, when I told her blue she said that was fine and she didn't even need to see the exact colors until about 6 weeks before the wedding - so I'm glad we went anyway!

I just got back and she said it was fine not knowing exactly what I wanted - I don't need to give them swatches of the dresses or anything until 6 weeks before!

Yeah, I went anyway but I was a little nervous... she was fine when I just said some sort of blue though.
