Ok ladies - I don't post often because I'm not supposed to at work - but I need some input.
I've gotten two quotes from florists - one for $3600, one for $3900. THis includes delivery fees and tax.
My flowers are peonies, roses, hydrangea and some others - my inspiration is below:
I am getting:
17 low centerpieces, footed silver bowls filled with the flowers My BoK 4 BM BoK 6 GM bouts 2 nosegays for moms 2 corsages for Grandma's A wrought iron arbor to get married under with large arrangements on each side (2 arrangements) Arrangements for entrance table, cake and fireplace mantel
Do those prices seem high? or are they just about right?
That is what I was thinking. I'm sort of sad though - because i was in LOVE with one of these vendors. I was so hoping she would come in at a better price!
Thank you.

Re: Florist price questions:
sounds like a fair price...
do you love them? have you seen the florist work?
if the price is within your budget and you LOVE it then go for it
if you have not used this florist and want to see other florists see what other prices you can get and determine the best one from there

Re: Florist price questions:
I'm thinking about cutting some of my ceremony flowers to do better. My alter arrangements are $800 total - which seems like a lot...Although after the ceremony they will be moved inside to be in front of the fireplace. Hmmm.
I just got such a great feeling from this one vendor, she seemed so easy to work with and totally understood what I wanted.
Thanks for all the input, i really appreciate it!

Re: Florist price questions:
it seems a little high to me.. but i mean if you really love the vendor and don't want to gamble with someone else maybe it's worth it to spend the extra money? idk.. that's how i rationalize it.

Re: Florist price questions:
Does your quote breakdown the prices. I have no idea how much the arbor would be. But I think the quote might be high.

Re: Florist price questions:
The quote was basically: $100 for centerpieces $150 for my BoK $90 for other BM boK $8.00 for bouts $35 for moms nosegays $18 for corsages $800 for arbor with 2 large arrangements $22 for aisle decorations $20 for floating peonies at cocktail hour $75 each for other arrangements (escort table, mantle, etc)
Thoughts? When I break it out it doesn't seem that crazy...Is anything looking ridiculous?
Again, thank you!!

Re: Florist price questions:
Well - the one i love is Nancy Munch at Open House Country - she works out of her home in Stony Brook. She was just the best person ever!

first of all, i looked at your 'inspiration' and it's beautiful!
I think that your cp's are a little high - i'm doing low cp's and mine are $85. try to negoitiate a little bit with that. i think everything else seems right on target. the arbor might be a little high but you're renting something so you may be able to get them to wiggle on that. and the arrangements for that see if they'll wiggle on those too. worth a shot right?
have you been to any other florists?

I'm glad you liked my inspiration :)
I'm definitely going to call her back and try to negotiate a bit - she was so nice and seemed happy to change or adjust anything - so I'm going to keep my fingers crossed.
I went to 2 other florists. One was about $300 less than she was and the other I just got a terrible vibe from from the moment we started. Even if she was very inexpensive I wouldn't go with her!

Re: Florist price questions:
def sounds about right for pricing....
maybe you do not need the CH decoration if you want to cut prices...
also look at other florists to get second opinions to see what prices are out there and if you get a lower price maybe she can match it...

Re: Florist price questions:
she has 17 low centerpieces which is in a bowl not even a vase with floating flowers. Low cp's are around $50 each MAYBE $75 but for floating flowers it wont be, 17 cps at that price would be $850 lets even round it to $1000. That would mean the bok's, bout's are over $2000?
oh wait i just saw she has a iron arbor-ok that costs more lol

low cp's shouldn't be $100 but it is peonies so thats probably why, they're only in season a short period of time and when its not they are pretty expensive. Other than that the prices are good, even the bok is good, alot of them are $200 and over, and bms will be a bit over $100.
i just checked and you're getting married in may so peonies are in season then but they're expensive in general.
