So I went on my first florist appointment today at House of Flowers in Mamaronek. I honestly had no idea what to expect because everyone's prices tend to be all over the place and I want some really simple stuff, so I just went in and said 'This is what I want, what can you give me?'
He quoted me for:
My Boq. 5 BM Boq's 1 FH Boot. 5 GM Boots. 2 Father Boots. 2 Mother corsages 14 Center Pieces (Short and on the small side) 4-6 small votive candles per table A Runner
And he quoted me at around $3000
That seems really expensive to me. A lot of other girls are getting their prices in the $2000 range.
My general idea for what I want is attached. Simple, modern, clean.
Granted I also want to include gardenias in there, but still, I want small stuff and I'm not getting that much, right?
I'm only going to one more appointment after this because I have four requested florists and one of them is in the city and the other is more of a full table scape place and I want smaller simple stuff.
15 high cps (roses) 1 Chuppah with 2 small arrangements my bouquet (roses and mini callas) 5 MOH/BM bouquets (roses) 2 small nosegays (6 roses) 5 corsages 14 bouts flower girl basket and petal aisle petals
Who are the other florists you're considering?

Re: Florist Quote Help
You can try to price it yourself, by using bridal flower web sites to gauge prices.
Some florist like to charge $100 an hour for their service.
I go by fiftyflowers.com and assume the price is 15% above wholesale price.
its has a large variety, and if you do end up going DIY, I've used them before they are great.

Hmm..you should try posting this on the NYC Knot Board - there are girls there that have gotten married at Tappan Hill, and maybe they can help you out.... GL!

That does seem a little too much for what you want! I was quoted $2400 for:
Our florist is giving us a free toss-away bo-k and rose petals and will decorate the sides of the runner, as well as the card table and petals for FG; and free flowers on the trays of pased hors'douevres at CH I'm sorry i don't know any florists in your area but I would def. keep looking. Good luck!!!
