Hi. I am looking for florists in the Glen Cove, Sea Cliff, Locust Valley Area. When I was in high school I worked at the Harrison House and loved their flowers but can't remember the name of their florist. Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks.

We went to Simply Elegant and loved them, I recently went to a wedding and they were the florist and they did a great job.

I have a question about Smply elegant. I too went there and was impressed, until I saw my centerpiece sample. They were very sparse? with the flowers and used too much baby's breath. So when I added some other flowers the price went stupid!! Anyway, I have another quote and this person is using twice as many roses for less the price. I wanted to use Simply Elegant for the fact that they are local. The other florist is in Suffolk!! I'm also getting yet, another quote from someone else in the area. I 'll let you know how that goes.

I used Murphy & Co. in Bayside and was very happy with the results. The centerpieces were $40 each, did not look sparse, and mixed tulips, roses and a bunch of other flowers. I think they also used some ivy as filler, instead of the usual stuff so it looked different. They are not real close to Glen Cove, but may be close enough. I'll be posting pictures in a few weeks, as soon as I get a scanner.

The club my mother works at uses Simply Elegant. Only because he is friends with the manager. We got a quote from him and he charged full price- and full price is very expensive. I wasnt totally impressed with how he did the arraingement either. Not to sound greedy, but he has seen my mother every week for 2 years and does all of their flowers. You would think he would help a little bit... So we ended up calling someone else she knows and she is wonderful. She is in Glen Cove and its her own business so she can really work with you. Her name is Jill Chaffin #516-671-8973. She really gave me great ideas for flowers and even the table settings (napkins we are sprucing up a bit). She played the centerpiece off my favors too which I though was wonderful. This way they all blend in together! Try her, she is a sweetie! Good luck!

My pleasure. When you go there its her workroom which isnt much, her pics are nice but what really blew me away was the ideas she came up with. Make sure you tell her what your favors are if your having any. Thats how she picked my centerpiece! We are making candles in little clay flowerpots. So she suggested an ivy plant in a terra cotta pot with flowers bursting out of it. I love that idea because the ivy will last!! The ideas for my bouquet and the girls sound lovely too... I think you will really like her. She is very easy going and if you dont like something tell her. I dont like hydrangias (sp) and she was going to put them in the plant but I told her that I dont like them and she was great... another florist wanted to put them in a plant stand and told me they were the only way to have a 'burst' of color... Keep me informed. Let her know Kim gave you her number. She wont know me by Leyann even though its my nickname.. Has to be legit for the wedding day :)Good luck!!
