We selected a florist based on the quality of their flowers, and because they had a picture of my dream bouquet in their portfolio. Only after they had 2/3’s of my money (1/3 to book, 1/3 at creative session) was I told that I had to provide all the accessories (i.e. bouquet jewelry, broaches, etc) myself and that none were included. The florist said I would have to buy wire and hot glue gun and put the accessories together myself for them to incorporate…how crazy is that! I am furious, at no time did the sales person tell us this. I noticed on these message Boards that my Florist has an “F” with the BBB. I looked it up myself and it is true…sadly the one I turned down is in good standing!
If I knew then what I know now I would have went with the other florist we met. I felt guilty turning the other one down...now I know that the 'guilty' feeling was really my gut instinct telling me that I was making a mistake. I will recommend the one I turned down any day over the one I selected. I guess I just have to break out the hot glue gun and move on…I just can’t help but wonder why the heck I am paying a florist if I am doing their work for them!

Re: Florist Sales was not upfront with me...
'Mommy and Daddy' arent paying 1 dime towards my wedding. And I think that comment was uncalled for. Why dont you start over with a new thread and introduce yourself without just venting. Like one of the other girls said- vendors come here and pose as brides to bash other vendors and usually they have only a couple of posts.
We really are a nice group if you give us a chance.

Seriously, am I a terrible person because 'mommy and daddy' are paying for my wedding?? I care no less about the quality of service they are paying for and I'm not sitting here spending all kinds of money...I've nickle and dime'd every vendor I have.
Post whatever intro you want, I won't be responding any further to your threads.

A LOT of us are paying for our own weddings too you're not alone there and most of us understood why you were upset. I just think we've just seen a lot of instances where vendors come on here posing as brides and badmouth other vendors and they're usually the ones with just one or two posts.
A lot of times when girls come on for the first time they'll post a thread introducing themselves. You should do that, I promise we're actually a nice crowd.
ditto, well said

Re: Florist Sales was not upfront with me...
I’m not a vendor, just a bride who is getting stressed as the day gets closer and things start blowing up. I was not aware that I had to introduce myself...can someone please direct me to the rule book on this, please?
It looks like I’m unintentionally pissing people off and people are taking my stress personally. Everything I write is directly related to me and my situation. For the record I don’t think there is anything wrong with parents contributing or paying for their childrens weddings. In my case they aren’t…and even if they were then I would still be unhappy with this outcome. I am simply saying is ***** not getting what you *thought* you were paying for.
