Florists Questions

Hey brides,

I'm beginning to do research on florists. Just had a couple questions to ask for those who visited or choosen florists already.

1. Do you take pics with you of what you want?

2. Do you negotatie price on flowers?

3. How far in advance from your wedding do you book appts with florists?

4. How many florists did you guys visit?

5. I dont want to by nosy - but what are you guys roughly paying at the florists??

1- Yes, I took pics with me
2- There really isn't that much of negotiation that can be done...they have their costs and can only budge a little bit. As far as extras, that's where you can work your magic.
3- My wedding is July 12, 2008 and it looks like we are booking flowers tomorrow!
4- I visited 3 (2 today!)
5- Flowers range from $1,000-$20,000...it's up to you....prices fluctuate based on high/low centerpieces, the types of flowers you use, how many flowers you use in the CP's and BOK's, ceremony and RH extras....

3. How far in advance from your wedding do you book appts with florists? I BOOKED MY FLORIST A WHILE AGO NOW....I THINK WE BOOKED ABOUT 1 YEAR 7 MONTHS PRIOR

4. How many florists did you guys visit? 5 OR 6 I CAN'T REMEMBER

5. I dont want to by nosy - but what are you guys roughly paying at the florists?? YOU HAVE FM

2. Do you negotatie price on flowers? I haven't yet...first i'm just visiting many different florists, and then i'll try to negotiate with the ones I'm seriously thinking about booking..

3. How far in advance from your wedding do you book appts with florists? I'm actively looking for florists now and my wedding is almost a year away...I wanted to have all of my vendors booked a year in advance...

4. How many florists did you guys visit? I've visited two so far and I have appointments with at least 2 or 3 more...

5. I dont want to by nosy - but what are you guys roughly paying at the florists?? I would like to keep my budget up to $1000...it's a little difficult though because my wedding is fairly big (25 centerpieces, 6 bouquets, a gazillion bouts, etc..) The price really goes up when it comes to centerpieces...I initially wanted high centerpieces and they usually charge around $100 a piece...so paying for high CPs alone would come up to $2500 for me!

2. you can definitely negotiate, especially if you get lower quotes from other florists you've visited. or just ask if they can do any better because it's slightly more than you want to spend.

3. you can start looking for a florist right away. i booked mine 9 months before.

4. i've visited a total of 3 florists and booked with the third one on the spot.

5. i told her my budget was $2000 and they stuck to it.

2. you can try to negotatie or give them a budget lower than you actually want to spend. One florist gave me a write up sheet of everything I wanted and said nothing is set in stone yet, not colors, flowers, or prices. I thinkyou can negotiate when you actually book.

3. look as soon as you have your dress and BM dresses picked (or a very good idea) you can always change colors up to a few months b4 wedding

4. went to 3. may go to more. It's kinda expensive so really want to shop around

5. I dont know what im paying b/c i didnt book yet, but got quotes of $150 bride; $50-75 BM bo-k; $6-9 boots; $75-$100 low CPs and $125-$175 high CPs.

3. How far in advance from your wedding do you book appts with florists? i booked in march i think, so about 14 months before the wedding

4. How many florists did you guys visit? just 1, i did alot of research first and also had spoken to other florists at bridal shows and saw their work

I dont want to by nosy - but what are you guys roughly paying at the florists?? honestly hearing others quotes won't reallyhelp you unless they have close to the same amount of cp's as you, bok's, bout's and also have to be same flowers. I honestly don't know if my quote would help you or not. What type of flowers are you interested in? also how many cp's? high or low? how many bok's and bout's?

1. I brought pics and explained what I wanted, she drew a pic for me and showed me some of her pics to help me visualize it.

2. Her quote was a little high, I told her what I wanted to pay, she told me how I could do it. (taking out extra candles from centerpieces, smaller alter arrangements...) She was definitely willing to work with me

3. I booked our florist yesterday, but I met with her in June. Our wedding is 7/6/08
