Flower Centerpieces - UPDATE at Bottom!!!

Flower Centerpieces - UPDATE at Bottom!!!

I'm getting married at the Brentwood County Club and they offer their brides a full wedding package, including the florist.

I met with the florist today and I'm torn. I'm not all that big into flowers - never really have been b/c I never got them, but since joining this web site, I see people's CP and Bo-Q's and how people respond, so I wanted to ask you all a question.

This is the CP that comes with the package.

It is daisies and mums - you can choose an assortment of colors, or choose one color. We chose ivory assortment of the two flowers, instead of pink, blue, yellow, or lavender.

However, I love roses!! I saw these at the showcase and fell in love with them, but my one concern: their height. I felt the guests wouldn't be able to see across the room when they were standing up. If I did a dozen red roses, it would be $15/table extra and we're having 14-15 tables.

I'll be carrying red rose bo-q, my MOH will be carrying a red and ivory rose bo-q and my BM will be carring ivory rose bo-q. The table cloths will be ivory with intricately laced design woven into them.

What would you do?

None of you would be concerned with height?

My reception is from 1-6pm, so that's another reason why my Mother chose the daisies and mums.

Re: Flower Centerpieces

i wouldnt worry about the height at all. high centerpieces are generally constructed above eye level so that guests can still talk across the table.

I would definitely go with the roses – is your mom concerned about the etiquette of roses for the daytime? Roses are considered the standard – something like the long stemmed callas are more formal. I think the roses look lovely!

I agree with everyone, I would pick the roses. Roses are my favorite, but I also like the look of the rose centerpiece you posted much better than the other centerpiece.

I went to a wedding at Brentwood in March and the bride choose to upgrade to this Rose centerpieces. She did cream roses and while I thought the color she chose was bland, I thought the overall presentation was very pretty. The height looked very impressive in the room and we were talking to everyone around the table all night with no visual issues. People commented on how nice the tall rose centerpieces were.

I would absoloutely upgrade if I were you.

my FMIL went to a wedding two weeks ago at BCC and she said she did not care of the cylinder high pieces. she said that you couldnt really see the people across the table and that it was far to big....They were very wide and she said you couldnt appreciate the flowers.....

I like the roses...because you can see the flowers more than the mums and daisies according to the pics here.

that was one thing she said...that you couldnt even see the flowers...I would go with the roses
