Flower Girl Baskets

I was just wondering if everyone is filling their flower girl baskets with real whole flowers and petals, or just petals in the basket? I know the flower girls are supposed to toss petals, but i`ve seen pictures of flower girl baskets with whole flowers in them. What is everyone doing?

Flower Girl Baskets

We had the flower girl basket decorated with the same flowers that the bridesmaids held and had petals to toss in a cup in the middle of the basket surrounded by the whole flowers. We did this so that when the flower girl was finished dropping the petals she'd still have her basket decorated for the pictures. We didn't want her basket to be empty when she took pictures after the ceremony.

We are having whole flowers put into the basket; I don't think my church lets the petals be thrown so I didn't want to risk the petal idea. Because my flower girl will be throwing them everywhere-LOL!!

check w/ your hall about whether they allow petal toss, confetti, bubbles etc. My hall only allows petals, they don't want the latter 2. So, we're having the girls throw petals, with an arrangement in their basket for pics. And, we are going to pass a basket around during the ceremony and guests will take a handful of petals to toss at us!
