Flower Girl Dresses

I'm debating when I should buy the dresses for my flower girls...both are young (5 and 3) and at those ages growth spurts are pretty common

I'm happy to pay for them - I don't want to put any more of a financial burden on my sister or FH's brother and sister in law since all of them have to travel for the wedding and are in the wedding. I'm just trying to decide if I want to buy the dresses or have them made.

It seems like so many little girls' dresses are either strapless (!) or just have these little spaghetti straps. I love the idea of a simple cap sleeve dress with a full skirt and a little sash but it seems really hard to come by.

Any advice on when/where to buy or where you had your girls' dresses made?

Kohls.com had some options. Also, I went to Burlington a few weeks ago, and there were TONS of white dresses. I've seen some with short sleeves.

Our fg will be 5 for our wedding, the dress is a replica of the bridesmaids dress except it is cap sleeve instead of strapless, made by the same designer. The dress shop ordered 2 sizes bigger to accommodate a possible growth spurt, if not then it can be hemmed.

Yeah, I have to check etsy. I was just wondering if anyone had a local seamstress or dressmaker in the nassau area that they could recommend.

I talked to someone from RK Bridal this week about when to buy/measure for the little girls' dresses and she recommended waiting until about one month to two weeks before the wedding to order.

flowergirldressesforless.com is what we are using. I preordered a dress to see the quality, and it was really nice for the price.

Wow a month before.... I'll be very busy. I was tempted to purchase one this weekend at Burlington but was iffy on the size. I saw my FG 2 weeks ago. I saw a pic on FB this weekend and it looks like she had a growth spur...

I know...I was like really? One more thing to do at the last minute? My niece is the same with the growth spurts, my SIL just told me that she has totally outgrown the outfits we bought her for Christmas!

I should have added that shipping for flowergirldressforless.com was really fast, but the sizes ran really big, so we definitely needed the time to send back and get the right size
