Is 8 years old too old for a flower girl? One of my FH's neices will be 8 when we get married (her sister will be 5 and is a FG as well) and I was thinking maybe I should make hr a Jr BM instead of a FG? Do you think 8 is too old? I never really thought about it before but it just dawned on my while reading another post. Thanks!!!

Re: Flower Girl Question!
No I don't think so. I think once you hit 10 you start to wander into the Junior BM realm. JMO HTH!!!
Thanks so much ladies!! Think we will keep her a FG! Just didn't want her to feel funny if 8 was too old to be one! But I think it will be fine! Thanks for your help ladies!!!

I don't think so. I was a flower girl at my cousins wedding when I was 10. I was a tiny kid.

Re: Flower Girl Question!
My flower girl is 8 years old and I'm hoping that she will help get our 2 ring bearers down the aisle and they are 6 & 8.

Re: Flower Girl Question!
I did a little research on it and they say online at etiquette sites I found that 8 is fine.... I think 8 is great for a flowergirl b/c she'llactually know what she's supposed to do!

Re: Flower Girl Question!
My flower girl is 7 and will be 8 in January. I think that is a great age. My FG is so excited to be in our wedding.

Re: Flower Girl Question!
Since I have three nieces, I decided to do it this way:
5 year old will be the FG (and she's so teeny tiny and cute) The 7-going on -8 year old and the 7 year old will be the Jr. BMs
Is that odd? haha! It just seemed silly to me to have 3 flower girls. The older girls love the idea of being a Jr. BM! Especially the 7 year old, as she was already a FG before. I dunno, I guess titles don't really matter do they?

Re: Flower Girl Question!
i think it depends on the girl's maturity level. ask her what she wants to do. she might be embarrassed being a fg if she is very mature.

Re: Flower Girl Question!
My SIL's flowergirl was 8, she had a lot of fun and she just wore the same dress but with a few subtle differences.

Re: Flower Girl Question!
I have the same problem, I have 5 kids in the bridal party. One is 11 she will definetly be a JBM and then I have my 2 cousins who will be 3 definetly flower girls. The problem is with my niece who will be 6 and another little girl who will be 4. I dont want to have 4 FG, but the other 2 might be too young to be JBM. I dont know what to do?

Re: Flower Girl Question!
I think 8 is right on the edge. It might depend on whether how big she is relative to her peers.
If she has hints of starting puberty (i.e. boobs), I think she should be a JrBM, regardless of age.
