Flower help please

I haven't posted on here much, but usually lurk, so hello! I am wondering if you guys have booked your florists yet for centerpieces/bouquets? We are getting married 8/30/08, we live out of state but are here right now for holidays. I called one florist and she said it was too early because prices change throughout the months and I told her we were out of state but moving back the beginning of July, she said that would be enough time but what do you guys think? Should I call around more? I was really hoping to meet with someone now...

honestly i do not think it is too early at all to be meeting with people...i think it is strange that a florist told you that...i would def call elsewhere

i agree my wedding is only a few weeks before u and ive already booked (like a month ago)..not to mention that i had planned on going even earlier then that

It's not too early at all! My wedding is a month before yours and we booked our florist a month ago.

I suggest you call other florists.

same here...we recently booked with 6 months until the wedding and i thought that was cutting it close

We already booked our florist but haven't met for sample CP's or anything. However, the florist we're using- you can use any flower you want for the same price. We had our initial meeting to say what we needed (ie: 15 tables, 6 BOK, etc....) and they quoted us/ we left a small deposit.... and I've emailed to confirm the flowers I like were in season & OK... but that's all the communication we've had. Our florist is Burton's & many other brides on here are using as well.

I agree...never too early to do anything...it's for your piece of mind and if you want to book it then you should do so!

i booked 14 months before my wedding so definitely shop around.

I booked my florist like 2months ago and my wedding is on the same month as you....
I dont know what your florist is talking about..
go meet with flower michelle John is super nice! you should call him~

I've had my florist booked since October and I'm getting married in Oct, so that's a year. The florists I visited had no problems meeting me at that time. Good luck.

My FH's godfather is a florist and he usually needs about 2-3 months notice so he can order the flowers, especially if they're not in season or if they need to be special ordered from somewhere. So, you have a bit more time to wait if you want, I just wouldn't wait until the month before...don't worry too too much about that!

we havent booked our florist yet - and we are getting married in June. A few places i spoke with said there is no rush. They really only need 2 months to make sure they have the flowers available. So i wouldnt worry about it.

I don't think it's too early to meet with them to at least go over ideas so you know how much everything will cost. We booked our florist in October. We won't do our CP until closer to our wedding date though.
