Anyone using flower michele/knows someone that used flower michele... i'm having a quandry. I let them know that I'd like to book, and they sent me the 'contract' which is not actually a contract, it's an outline of what was discussed typed up in a word document. Is this weird?
ALSO - the outline was a mess - didn't include a few things we discussed, name and RH were wrong... I contacted them 2x to send a revised proposal, and never heard back (this was a week and a half ago).
My mom was going to bring the deposit today but she's uncomfortable and I'm a bit uncomfortable as well.
Thoughts anyone? Please help!!! TIA

This is JMO but I would not go with a deposit until things in the contract are cleared up.
If you're not completely comfortable or you don't trust them, don't book, think it over more and even go to another place. It might help you change your mind or confrim that you really want to go with them.

That's odd. I received an official proposal/contract on the spot. And john has always been super responsive. Make them give you a contract!

Hmm.... Maybe I'm just catching them on a bad week? I'm trying to make them give me a revised proposal and they aren't getting back to me!

im not using them, but my friend went in for a quote and said the exact same thing....that campared to every other florist (she went to like 10) the proposal was sooooooooo vague and they didn't want to write up any formal.....if you read the reviews on here brides have said that everything was beautiful but smaller than they expected (perhaps becuase there was no formal contract) again i have not met with them (even though i wanted to because my hall requires me to use their florist i am just repeating what i have heard

In general, never never never give a deposit without a signed contract outlining everything

Re: Flower Michele Brides - Help Please
This is so weird. I always hear amazing things about them and the customer service they give too. I am using Flower Michele- John. I had gone to other florists before and when to FM, I knew I was booking on the spot so I guess that could be the difference but that is still odd. What I got definately was a contract, with everything written out about what we discussed, the price for each item and the deposit informatin and and disclaimers/policies they had.
So this is so strange but maybe they dont have the actual ability to send the contract via email (or if it was via regular mail... then maybe they only like to give a contract when someone gives the deposit. So I would tell your mom to bring what they sent you along with the parts that were wrong or not complete circled...when she goes, ask her to confirm that if she leaves a deposit they will write out a contract with all the correct and complete information.
Sorry this happened. John always seemed genuinely happy to help as much as he could.

I haven't been dealing with John. Yeah that's pretty much what I told my mom to do - and if they don't make it right, to not give them the money. I really really really reallllly like the designer, and I hope this gets straightened out. It's kind of stressing me!!!

Re: Flower Michele Brides - Help Please
Someone wrote on BHB about how they have not been able to get in touch with them for two weeks... So Weird!
I worked with them for my sister's wedding and never had a problem. Got a formal contract the day we booked, and everything went smooth.

I will tell you my experience with them. I know that many many brides love them though. When I went to book with John, we discussed everything over the phone and via pictures I email him (I live OOT). He said he would email me a quote and contract. I waited patiently for 2 weeks and before I even received a quote his assistant called me to see if I would be booking with him. I told her I didn't even have a quote yet. She said she would look into it and send me one. I verified she had the correct e-mail. Another week passed and still no follow up. Again His assistant called to see if I would like to book. After informing her again that I did not have a quote or contract John followed up with a call. He stated that his assistant had sent out the quote and he wasn't sure what happened. I received a vague email that didn't even state what flowers would be used. It was 2 - 3 sentences and said that it would cost this much money and we need a 25% deposit.
I was very uncomfortable with this and so I did not book.

That sounds just like my situation. Now, I emailed again today, expressing my discomfort, and did not receive so much as an acknowledgment. When my mom called to let them know she was coming in with the deposit but wanted to discuss things first, she was informed that the designer wasn't there today, and to call back Sunday. I'm having serious hesitations about this.
I cannot understand how some people get contracts, and others get vague write ups like I did. It doesn't make sense to me. Sorry - I'm just really frustrated because I really, really liked his ideas...

Re: Flower Michele Brides - Help Please
i am using them. They sent me the same thing BUT when I went in person we hashed everything out on another sheet of paper and made it official. They dont specify the flowers you will use because you can choose whatever you want - your not stuck to something you put on a contract like other places. I took some pictures of what we had discussed for my wedding so that he cant tell me the price wasnt based on what I wanted. (they happened to be already done in store for someone else's wedding)
If you can stop by one day on a visit to LI that may be your best bet - or prepare a contract that makes you comfortable and have your mom present that to them.
I preferred speaking with them in person because they were not available too often over the phone ...
