What do you girls know about the renovations they are doing? Particularly the reception room. I'm VERY frustrated. I understand they want to do all these renovations and reveal them once they are complete in April. However, I booked based on what it used to look like, have now spent a lot of money on decor based on what it used to look like and now its changing. For me the timing is terrible BC I want to book some other vendors for decor but I'm hesitant to BC I have no idea what the room will look like. Also, I now risk these vendors booking up by April. I'm going to call and talk to my banquet manager tomorrow. I'm extremely disappointed. The most info I could get was that the tulle and white lights over the dance floor is coming down, which is my favorite part of that room! Moreover, when I said that to the woman I spoke to at Flowerfield today she goes, 'I know all the brides love that!' Ummmmm, so why is it being taken down? I'm super stressed over this!

They told me when I booked that the walk way coming into Flowerfield was going to be replaced with stone and all the carpet back by the bridal suite was going to be replaced. They didn't mention anything about the reception room. I am going there on Sunday to show my FSILs so I will ask for more details. I'm surprised they are taking down the tulle and lights that's a very pretty part of the room.

Try not to stress, I have faith that whatever they are doing will be just as amazing. Are they not having any weddings until April when it's done?

I LOVE all the other renovations, its just the tulle and lights kn the reception room that I'm freaking about (obviously lol). My Type A personality cannot handle this hahaha. Let me know what your investigation skills uncover! They mentioned 3 big lanterns? I'm hoping they don't just model it after Lands End. Even if they kept SOME of the lights and tulle I'll sleep better. (*Please note:I'm fully aware I'm being dramatic. Patience is just not a virtue of mine and I need to plan! Lol)

Re: Flowerfield Brides
I totally get being nervous, but do you think they are going to make it look worse? Renovations are a GOOD thing - look at it that way Anything they do is only going to make it MORE beautiful - I highly doubt they would ever do anything to upset brides. Sure it might be different, but different in a good, better way! So far I know the bars are redone, new flooring in the atrium and lobby, they've hung lanterns in the atrium, and are really just freshening up the décor in a similar, more modern way. Everything I have seen so far looks amazing. I also wouldn't necessarily hinge on the fact that vendors may or may not be booked by April, maybe explain the situation and ask for a tentative hold or booking with refundable deposits.
ETA: I think it's a bit unfair to act like they are being thieves or deceitful about the renovations and your deposits - any time I have had a question, they give me the information they have at the moment and they've assured me that things are progressing smoothly.

I do like the other renovations. I dont think they'd make it look worse, but they are removing my favorite element in the reception room so one can imagine that to be very disappointing. Also, when spending all this money its hard planning based on someone saying, 'Its going to be nice.' You will have the advantage of seeing everything and planning around it. But its very frustrating to call and go there and have them tell me they know what they are doing but just won't say. I also did also try refundable deposits to hold dates, but unfortunately it didn't work. Although thank you! That is definitely a good idea! Too bad I can't fake cry! Lol Also, I'm not saying they are 'thieves' but I think this is being handled poorly, which may only be my personal experience. I know in the end it will have to work out BC I'm not going to change my venue. But I'm going to continue to pursue it with them BC we get one shot at this and want our wedding to be what we want, which at the end of the end of the day is what I'm most afraid won't happen.

We just had our food tasting there last weekend (AMAZING!). All the renovations look great. Nobody has said anything to me about changing the lights/tulle in the reception room. They told me the only other thing that was being changed in the reception room is the carpet. And they are planning on doing a patio/fire pit outside. From what I was told, they have the supplies, but due to the weather have not been able to get it done, but I was told they are 80% sure it will be done for my June wedding. When I went to see the renovations, the girl (can't remember her name) that showed us around told me that most of the renovations was from prior brides feedback. Like, a lot of people complained when it's hot & humid out the cocktail hour room smelled musty, so that's why they got rid of the carpet in there.

I think thats also part of the reason they opened up that back wall. It adds more seating, access to the patio they are building, and removes some plants to help with that same issue.
My FH asks weekly when we get to go for the tasting! Glad you enjoyed it! My brother got married at Flowerfield so my parents and I have all had the food (and agree with your sentiment!) He's the odd man out lol!

I just went there yesterday to take a tour and they said the tulle and lights are staying for sure, so no worries. :)
They said they are changing all of the ceiling tiles and the carpet to a black one with hints of brown. They also said the walls and bars were all recently updated.
I was really considering booking here but in my opinion I think the ballroom just doesn't work with the atmosphere they are creating with all of the renovations I've seen thus far. I'm confused.

Re: Flowerfield Brides
So I just got back from Flowerfield. First, I cannot tell you all how much I LOVE my banquet manager. I am working with Heather and from the first time we met with her she has always just gone above and beyond. My Dad and I first walked around on our own to see everything, then she came in and saw us and took us on a tour and clarified everything. I am so reassured and reminded why I booked there.
Here is the dirt on everything!
The entrance way is in the process in of being redone. They are painting it a neutral color and then decorating with Pottery Barn furniture and mirrored decor.
The Atrium room is pretty well finished. They may be putting some more plants along the back wall, but that's not a definite. Most of the plants from there have been replanted throughout the room. The doors along the back door will lead to a patio with seating a fire pit. The patio is marked out and will be a nice size. The last thing they may do is change the carpeting on the bridge, but honestly I didn't even really notice it. The carpeting is all gone with the new flooring. The bar has mahogany finish and the covering on top is a black covering as opposed to green.
The Reception room was literally empty! So weird to see! The bars are replaced and all granite now. They were replacing the ceiling tiles today. I don't think I realized the difference that would make until we saw it today. They have a very neutral wainscoting type of wall treatment around the whole room and added crown molding. The window treatments are also new and a muted green and beige color with an ivory swag across the window. The carpet is being replaced as well. They actually had a sample in the room today. (We picked a good day to go!!) The boarder is a green/yellowish (much nicer than I could describe) and the carpet is dark brown with black accents. Its very modern and nice. I personally usually HATE catering hall carpet so I was ecstatic to see a nice dark carpet. Now for my dramatic point of contention...the ceiling. They are hanging 5 chandeliers throughout the room, one over the dance floor, and two flanking the dance floor. I posted a picture below of roughly what they are going to look like. They are about 4ft big and the shade portion on the ones they ordered are thicker. As for the tulle, they are putting tulle back up but it will be put back differently and with no lights. They are not 100% on how it will look. It is supposedly going to look more modern and a little more billowy. Marion from Bayview is designing it.
Eventually, they are going to bring all the neutral color schemes down to the bridal suite, but they aren't sure when. I was told that may not be done by my wedding. I personally don't mind though because I think its a nice room as is!
I feel a TON better!! Even when we left my Dad said, 'I feel much better now. I'll go pay Bayview whatever we need to so it is what you want, and at least now we know we can do it.' LOL. I love that man.
THANK YOU ALL for keeping me grounded and EVERYONE'S input!!! I really appreciate it!!! Loving all the support from the Flowerfield contingency!!!
Those chandeliers are beautiful! Very chic feel! So glad you feel better about everything! All in all, you will have a beautiful wedding because it's Flowefield, duh! :)

Hi! I am also getting married at Flowerfield and my fiancé and I just stopped by there this weekend. We spoke to Keri who is absolutely amazing and always seems to know how to put my 'Control freak' mind at ease! The place looked beautiful!! The floors in the entry way and atrium look great! The bar in the atrium was changed and looks terrific, very rich looking! We actually went into the ballroom just to check out the linens. I was pleasantly surprised to see the beautiful, new chandeliers. I also saw the new tulle but it wasn't finished yet. They were putting it up while we were there. I LOVED the tulle before, especially with the lights. HOWEVER, with the new chandeliers and the way they are thinking about draping the tulle I am sure I will LOVE the new look! I was very nervous about all the changes which I think is the norm for most brides! But at the same time I am also very excited to see the finished product! Everyone at Flowerfield is so helpful and always willing to answer any questions. Whenever I have a question or need clarification on anything, Keri has always been so prompt in getting back to me and always has the answer! She has been so amazing to work with!! I hope this post helps to put your mind at ease a little bit.

I didn't book Flowerfield yet but it am going back on Saturday for a second appointment to check out all the changes. This place is my dream venue but I am not comfortable with the price. Were any of you ladies able to negotiate at all??
This place is so gorgeous I can't see my wedding being anywhere else!

I would talk to them to see what you can do price wise. It is def one of the pricier venues but in all honesty it's worth every penny! They so a fantastic job, the venue is beautiful, the service fantastic, and the food is amazing.

Hey Ladies,
I was BUSTING AT THE SEAMS to see the updates, and I'm happy to share some pictures I took when I was there last weekend. It looks absolutely AMAZING.
Thanks for sharing! LOVE the patio. I'm anxiously awaiting to see how they end up keeping the draping in the reception room! The last time I was there the draping looked awesome, (it was different than the pic above) but I know they are still working on it. The carpet looks super nice too. They are doing such a great job!!!
