flowergirl age???
hi girls,i have 2 girls that i want to put in our bridal party as flowegirls...they are both 8 ( i think one may be turning 9 next year)...do you think they're too 'old' to be flowergirls??
i think i would want them to have the same color & similar style dresses as my BM's...
i also have another little cousin (who will be 5 next year) which is the perfect age--so i'm thinking that i will have her wear a white dress....
let me know what you think...
thanks!

Re: flowergirl age???
Leap 29I think 9 is a little too old. I would definately ask the 5 yr old, and the 9 yr old could be a Jr. BM

Re: flowergirl age???
LOL mine is 10 and I don't think she'd fit the role as a JBM!

Re: flowergirl age???
I think 9 is fine (ha-ha it's a rhyme....oooo again
). No really, I think of a JBM as between like 12 - 16 or so. My FGs will be 4 and 7

Re: flowergirl age???
Hi! I am having a 3 year old and a 6 year old. My 10 year old cousin will be a Jr. BM. ONLY because she is about an inch shorter than me! She's about 5'1' She looks too tall to be a FG.

Re: flowergirl age???
I was a flowergirl at my aunt and uncle's wedding when I was 9. I don't think it's too old at all.

Re: flowergirl age???
My flowergirl was 7 but looks older than that. She didnt have the 'ohh ahh' factor that a 2 year old might have but she wasnt too young to behave during the ceremony and rehearsal either.I think it more important to include the family/friends that are close to you AND will accept the responsiblity than base it on age.

Re: flowergirl age???
My FG will be 5 and my Jr. BM will be 7 & 10.As for the age - you can do whatever you want.
If you want her to 'match' the BM more than look like a FG, then I'd give her the Jr. BM title.

Re: flowergirl age???
My flowergirl will just be turning 3 but I have a feeling she won't walk down the aisle. She needs to be by her mom's side at all times so I don't know what I should do. Her brother is our RB, he's 5 and has been in weddings before so maybe I'll try to have them walk down together holding hands or something.

Re: flowergirl age???
My FG is 8years old. Her 2 1/2 year old brother is our ring bearer. I don't think that's too old, I just didn't pick out a FG dress that was very babyish. It's suitable for her age.

Re: flowergirl age???
I posted a similar question recently on the May thread. I have two little girls who are going to be 9 but look much younger and two who are 10. I pretty much decided that the older two are jr BMs and the younger two are FGs. I think they are a little old for a white dress but a colored or floral dress should be fine.
