Flowers
I`m going to start looking for flowers soon, and woud like an idea of what they cost. Does anyone think it`s possible to get 12 centerpieces, 4 BM boquets, 1 B boquet, and 5 bout. for less than $2000 What is everyone paying for their flowers, and what are you getting?

Definitely
You should be able to get all that for less than 2K. I am booking w/ Burton's (finally decided for those of you who know I was indecisive) and my pkg is much smaller but it's for $500 + delivery and tax. I am getting: my boquet (18 mini calla lillies hand tied in satin ribbon, which can go for $10 per), 6 rose bouts (incl FH), 4 rose corsages, 2 flower girl baskets w/ arrangements and petals, 2 bags of petals, 6 centerpieces (glass bowls w/ 12 roses, 4 star gazer lillie, calla lillies), 1 toss boquet, and flowers for my hair. It's important to keep in mind that I want to do the simplest things, like having the bowl vases, instead of tall centerpieces, which would be more costly.

No problem I too am finally 100% booked with Burtons after today- I went back girls and toldt them my concerns and I feel SO much better! Try to see Mike - he really set me at ease - not that John wasn't good - I just think I was having a bad day. I am getting my bouquet, 3 BM, 3 Moms, 5 Groomsmen, 17 High Centerpieces, a big center arrangment for the foyer, arrangment for the entrance, the ceremony arch AND more! For under $3500 - you should be FINE!

Go to Burton's. You should be fine with that budget. I have 8 girls, 12 centerpieces, 9 bouts, my Aunt's staircase being wrapped in tulle, 3 Moms, 2 great aunt coursages and more reception site flowers for less than $2,000.

Burton's wins. Since I booked w/ them today, now I can say: we should be getting paid for this. :) Go Burton's! Jenny, I agree, Mike put me as ease too, I also spoke to him today, since John was out and made my final decision (after all that obsessing).

Hey Nina! Too bad we didn't bump into each other!!! I was there at 12:00 - after I saw another vendor that said that $7000 was the lowest she could go!!!!! Oy!!! Burton's wins by far. I trust them now with no question. I am so excited about my flowers now I cannot tell you!

I'm really excited too!! Out of everything, I feel the best about choosing Watermill and Burtons, in that I trust that everything will be wonderful in their hands. It's such a relief. I can't wait to see and hold my boquet!

Burtons is in Melville. Their number is 631.424.3377. They don't give a breakdown on what everything costs. They just go through what you need and they give you a package cost. You won't have a problem with your centerpieces. Just make the appt. and go in. You'll need to know how many bouquets you need, corsages, centerpieces and so on. Good luck!

When do you book the florist?
I have a long engagement -- not getting married till 8/31/03. But my fiance and I are planning from Chicago, so I'm trying to get things done early. Do I have to wait till I have my dress & bridesmaids' dresses & know my colors before I book a florist? And how do you pick which flowers you want? I don't know the first thing about flowers...

When do you book the florist?
You might want the colors of the dresses because it helps with the choice of the flowers. Getting married in the summer, your colors will probably be light. You can look at www.freshroses.com for flower ideas. Thats a helpful site. Otherwise, keep looking through magazines and cutting out pictures! Do it EARLY!Welcome New Vendors
