Flowers...
So I am trying to tally up exactly what my realistic spending will be for this wedding. I have a few vendors booked and a few in mind that give me an idea of how much they will cost. The one area that remains a mystery to me is flowers! I realize because of the nature of flowers, there is no way to get a solid price estimate.Does anyone have any information about their flowers that might help me out? Have you spoken with florists yet? How important are flowers to your wedding? What kind of quotes are you hearing?

flowers are not important to me at all. I want to carry a brooch BoK... candle centerpieces. My BMs and MOH will carry about 3-4 calla lilies tied with a satin ribbon and I'll need 4 corsages (MOB/MOG, his grandma and my stepmom. Maybe a boutinere(spelling??) for FFIL and my dad... the groomsmen are going to have little superhero action figures as their boutineres :)My friend got married this past september and her flowers cost about 5K ... and that was RENTING the centerpieces.

That's crazy for renting! I want to rent my center pieces but I'm going cheap on the flowers as well. I planned on using birchwood w/ LED lights. I hope it's not too $$$

I'm curious about this myself as I don't know how to budget for flowers. I really want to spend as little as possible on them. Corsages/boutonnieres, bouquets and I guess church decor. I want to use floating candles and flower PETALS for centerpieces. I don't even know what kind of flowers I want. I'm so bad with this part of the wedding!

Flowers are not important to me either - I see why some people love them, but in my mind, the thousands of dollars I'd spend on CP's that will be of no use to me the next day, can go towards another vendor or our honeymoon. Our hall had ones that were included and were decent, and they also said they're going to get different ones this year, so if I like them I'm gonna use them and if not my mom said she'll take care of them for me because she wants me to have them. I've heard of $2500-$3000 being a pretty standard number.

sunflower and rose BoK for me

My planner is also designing my centerpieces and bouquets, etc. For $2500 I'm getting,1 bridal bouquet
1 Toss bouquet
5 BMs bouquets
5 Bouts
2 corsages
2 flower girl baskets
1 ring bearer pillow
12 small arrangements for the tables(I'm doing mostly candles)
2 arrangements for the place card table
4 arrangements for the church
But she also gave me a great deal, because I bundle planning and floral packages!

Flowers aren't that important to me either. I honestly like candles better and liked the floating candles with the flower stem in them, but I heard they can be just as expensive as floral centerpieces! I happened to run into someone who plans events and we started talking about flowers. She told me to tell florists how much you want to pay approximately per centerpiece and they'll tell you what they can do. That way, you have a little more control over the budget. I haven't met with florists so I haven't tried this yet, but I definitely am planning on staying below $2000. Hopefully lower!

Stick with in-season flowers if you can, that should save some money. I was recently quoted around $1400 for 14 centerpieces (highs and lows), my bouquet, 3 bridesmaids bouquets, 6 boutonnieres, and 2 moms corsages. I'm keeping things VERY simple and have a small bridal party so I didn't think the price was too outrageous but I'm still planning on shopping around.

Starting to believe i dont have a big enough budget for flowers ($300), my centerpieces are included with hall so i only have to worry about the bridal party (7 women including myself and 8 men). I may end up having friends/family doing my own flowers.

Michelle at Hidden Essence! She was GREAT, I just want to talk to With All My Heart first since they are right on site for me at East Wind.

I'm not big on bouquets, so everyone will have something simple including myself. My bouquet and any decor will be the big floral spend but I don't plan on it as my centerpieces are mainly candles and my venue is including floral centerpieces for every table. :)
