I want to know what other girls are doing? I have exhausted my options of calling and texting and emailing her and going to her house. I called the ny state court system and they told me to file a small claims case. I guess I'll wait till after my wedding since she will not deliver the services. Plus doing this before my wedding will make me bonkers. I would love to hear what others are doing. I'm clueless. We should all band together and brainstorm.

so she hasnt emailed you or called back at all?? UGhh..I really cant believe this whole situation. Did you get a new florist? If so, try to put this behind you until after the wedding. You dont need the extra stress. Then definitely file a smalls claim case. You could also call up the local news now and if you and other girls do that, they can put it out there so other brides not on LIW will be aware.

I remember someone had already looked into this and asked girls to start emailing her to get in on the lawsuit. If someone remembers who that was maybe we can post the username on the thread so everyone knows who to contact.

No no response. I did find another florist which was Flowers by Brian. Thank God! I went to a few places before them and they were all booked up on that day. Luckily they had an opening for another wedding that day so it's a sigh of relief. Yea that's why I wanted to find out other girls emails and numbers so we can all get together.

After not showing up to 2 wedding already. You still trust this woman? I would definitely find another florist!

I say... find a new florist and take care of yourself and your wedding. Afterwards, immediately file a police report. This is very important to do. You need to have it documented if she took off with your money. And then file a small claims court case. good luck to all. but please don't sit around feeling upset about it all. find a new florist. focus on the wedding and then actually report her! The police might send a detective into the field for you. they did that when i had something similar to identity theft. you all have her home address... so if you file a police report you are protecting yourself so that people take your case seriously and its legally filed what you lost from her and they might be able to do something. what she did is not right and you should not let it go.

We've already gone with a new florist. I just went in to the appt. with the new florist with a budget minus what I lost. She knew about what happened and worked really hard to keep it at our budget. I'm a lot happier now that I don't have to worry about all of this.
I would still love to get my deposit back but my concern is more for the girls how had already paid her in full. My deposit is pennies compared to that.

Personally, I think you should all file a police report now just so they have it on file. If you wait, it might come back to bite you in the asss! I'm not sure if there's a statute of limitations or anything!
ETA: Then again, the police might tell you there's nothing they can do and that it's a civil matter- breach of contract.

Not to be construed as a legal opinion... but... yeah that's probably what they'll tell you. She didn't commit a crime, she was given money she did not steal it.
