Okay girls here’s an response + update albeit not a good one:
So as you know I’ve tried to be as factual as possible both good and bad when it came to my findings…

Response to Marbears previous post: I have written 3 posts (thus far & this makes 4) –yes there were long but I was trying to be informative. I’m sure if you cumulate every single response you wrote it would prose fair competition w/ the length of mine. There are always two sides to everything –you have your proof and I never attacked you or refuted your claims; I said this was my experience and things I looked into to get some facts out of the many swirling rumors –from a different perspective. I took the time to follow-up on many things to reach certain conclusions. I get it, your in a different situation and you have a pending lawsuit (clearly noted before) & I have no reason not to believe you, I even said your entitled to your money (if payment after deposit is what your claiming). Take the time to read everything instead of rambling off a rebuttal just to have something to say. I’m not claiming to be the messiah and I never once questioned girls claiming against Gina (I do believe she needs to do what is right by them and work things out) so I would appreciate the same consideration and respect. I might actually plan on attending the hearing and I wish you the best. I know its located at 111 Centre Street (per your open invite pg.6) –I work nearby and I’ll definitely try and make it, if I can get out by 5:30. I called the NYC small claims court and the gave me the room number and time of the hearing (I couldn’t find it on this thread and I didn’t feel like going through every single page) –but as it is your case I didn’t want to put the details on blast. ;)

Regarding the [Gina Laplaca-hughes] -is NOT listed on Yellow pages, Radaris, white pages or Intellius people search, and no further results via the public-records-online-search’s database. But, I did find four (4) Gina Laplaca –hughes (2 in fresh meadows, 1 in glen cove and 1 in bayside) via Us search.com/ public records center, Peoplesmart had a couple of name variations and there was also connection to a James Hughes (FYI: James is her previous husbands name), and 1 result via mylife .com via a sponsored link (for which you had to provide your email address/ social networking account to access) –so I stopped there. ??????? Maybe she was Hughes maybe she wasn’t ??????? –obviously search results are vast and conflicting –she also told me she had a different married last name but I have no way of proving that… However the only surefire way you could of confirmed whether or not she was the PIQ (w/ regards to the DWI) was by attending the court date on Sept. 30; which brings me to the update...

I called the court on October 4 th to find out the status of the case only to find out that there is an arrest warrant out for PIQ (person in question). The PIQ failed to show up to court (it was originally supposed to be on the 16 th but it was postponed due to lawyer not being present). The courts offices told me PIQ will either be arrested (serious offense not to show up) or she would have to turn herself in and await a meeting/hearing with the judge. I asked if there was a rap sheet because I flat out explained why I was calling to inquire; I was told they did not have a rap sheet as of yet (it can take 1-2 months to arrive but it will not available for public record and is shredded once the case is closed) and that they can only go by name and address for which * I had the lightbulb go off and I asked if she could confirm the address associated on file. Mind you I don’t know if they normally release this information, but being that I had Gina’s physical address, the representative confirmed that’s what she had on file, in turn making her the actual PIQ. I called to confirm this twice to be certain (10/4 and 10/5) and I also called again today to see if they had executed the arrest before trying to attend Marbear’s small claims hearing.
I asked the court if they have updates regarding when or if the PIQ turns herself in, and they said they continually update until the case is closed.

I tend to always take things with a grain of salt, I believe in second chances and anyone who knows me knows I tend to wear my heart on my sleeve. I originally posted to help some girls have some further insight, especially those who were just waiting in the shadows. The good, the bad and the ugly… Honestly after finding this, I really can’t say much else… *feel free to call up the Yonkers city criminal court and confirm for yourselves, don’t just take my word for it. I can’t say I’m shocked because I’m just disappointed. I also followed up with the bride whose flowers I had confirmed bc she has yet to post and turns out despite Gina’s beautiful delivery of flowers/execution on her wedding day, Gina owes her money for something else (!!!!) so I can see why she isn’t singing her praises just yet. I promised I’d keep things confidential so that’s all I can relay for which I have confirmed. Damn it, I don’t even have that much of a deposit to begin with, I could have stuck it out and provided some saving grace –and she still lied!!! Of course this shouldn’t surprise me, but I guess trying to see the good in people is really a double edged sword! Trust everyone but not the devil inside –one of my favorite quotes, put to practice!! I seriously DO want to hear what she has to say about this and I’m curious to know if the hospital paperwork conflicts in any way (her original reason for missing weddings) and this might very well be alluding to that second hospital stay (thus far that’s only speculation)… but this is no longer classified as hearsay –this is a direct confirmation from the court system. Its one thing if you were ashamed (I would have understood that) but when (what I considered a friend) asks you flat out and is pretty much one of the only particles floating in your corner and they dig the knife deeper, I have no choice but to turn around, grab a hold of it and spit the blood in your face. I wish the court system could have told me good news (which I would have posted despite the imminent attacks lol) but alas it wasn’t and it would be dishonorable of me not to inform you girls of this finding because it just so happens to be bad news. =(

I spoke w/ her mother and basically in more words or less told her I really can’t be expected to continue having the confidence in your daughter when she is avoiding contact and evading calls; I’m not going to the house again because at this point it’s becoming worthless. wow. I really hope Gina gets the help she needs, and that all of you girls get everything settled and your money back. Sorry you got burned too Taunita.

Update on court situation...

I went to small claims tonight! Gina did not show up (as expected). However, the court let me present my case before an arbitrator. Thank you to the three LIW brides who testified as my witnesses!!!! It was VERY nice of you. It really helped show that I and all other brides have reason to believe Gina would not show up for future weddings. The 2 arbitrators were very sympathetic and I think will end up issuing a judgment in my favor. But I won't get a decision in the mail for another 2 weeks, so the waiting game begins....however, one arbitrator did say that other brides could use my judgment at their future hearings (so that is a good sign!)

All I know is that if Gina was looking to make right of her situation, she would have showed up. She's hiding because she knows she is in the wrong and owes everyone money. I'll keep you all posted!

Yup, I know. Taunita showed up at the hearing tonight to the arbitrators are aware of the DWI/arrest situation. They even suggested filing larcency charges at the DA's office (they were really supportive and I think were just disgusted with the whole situation).

I'm not a Gina bride but i have been following the whole situation from the start. I feel sooo bad for all the brides that she stood up. but I'm happy that the hearing went well and hope that all the Gina Brides take action. There's no reason why she should have did what she did.

I didn't want to post anything until after Marbear's hearing, but for the record, Gina was scheduled to do flowers for my September 5th wedding. I haven't heard from her since August 2nd, despite paying in full and making several attempts to contact her.

Fortunately, Opalia in Brooklyn stepped in with only eight days to go, and did a fantastic job.

Still, I'd like my money back. So, small Claims Court it is.

P.S. Based on my experience and the ones noted here, I would strongly advise against hiring Gina to do your flowers.
