Flowers - opinions needed

I have really been leaning towards calla lillies for my bo-k, moh bo-k, and centerpeice (I dont have a bridal party). For me, I like the traditional white or ivory mini callas wrapped together - very simple and elegant.

Now I have two questions. My MOH is wearing a claret (red) colored dress. What color callas would look good with her dress? Does anyone ahve any pictures? Also, would it look too plain to have large ivory or white callas as my centerpeices, when everything else on the table is white (linens, plates, chair covers, ect.)? Thanks for the help girls.

I think it could be very elegant. For the red dress, why not go for yellow and white mini cala's? That would be gorgeous!!

A great idea also would be to take whatever material from the dress she has left over (maybe from the hem) and turn it into the ribbon to tie around the flowers. My goodness this is making me want to change my colors!!

In case you dont already know this...calla lillies are one of the most expensive flowers out there. Doing all your bouquets and centerpieces is going to cost a fortune!!!

That being said, they are beautiful flowers.

IMO, Red and yellow clash. (they are mcdonalds colors and are too bright for my tastes). How about pink callas for your BMs?

She doesn't have a bridal party, just her MOH. That's why I thought the yellow would look pretty mixed with the white...it's bold, but not too crazy. I agree with the McDonald's thing, but yellow calas aren't that deep in color.

Misty: Im not saying your wrong, just my opinion. I know some people think pink and red clash too so its all a matter of taste.

I agree that callas are expensive, but if you're wedding is in June/July, that is when they are in season. I believe they're imported from Holland?

I think the dark, dark red mixed with white might look nice.

If the centerpieces are high enough, or of the stems are left really long, I think the white would look nice in clear glass vases with water.

I think the white flowers would looke elegant with the claret dresses and white on white for the centerpieces looks beautiful with the white linen. The shine of the crystal and the silverware all make it look like it is shimmering. LOL

bo-k, whether I use roses or calla lillies, so that is why I am leaning towards them :)

What color pink calla lillies are you talking about? The burgundy ones (also called mango)? Im sorry to ask so many questions but I am clueless when it comes to color matches!

If he is charging you a fixed price...then great!!

Callas come in several different shades from what I remember:
Yellow - which ranges from a light to a rich color
Mango - which range from a yellowish orange to a deep orange
Pink - never seen these soI cant say
Mauve - pinkish/purplish/redish often with white centers
Burgandy (black beauties) - these are very dark red and what I used and loved but are not for everyone

For your centerpieces, Im not crazy about the tall centerpieces with a few callas...I like a more full/packed in look.
