FMIL doesnt want a corsage

So i'm at the florist doing my finals and i call fmil about her corsage. she tells me -- she doesnt want a corsage - 'everyone knows i'm the mother of the groom, what do i need a stupid flower for'

i was like - you need it for the pictures.. she was like, 'well, if you want to waste your money just for a picture, i think that is stupid'

UGH -- so no flower for her..

u think she will look like an idiot, when my mom and grandmas all have a corsage, godmothers too and she doesnt??

I think you need to get her one anyway. She may think it's a waste now, but it will look funny if she's the only one without it.

I can't believe a FMIL wouldn't want flowers??
I don't think it would look stupid at all. If she doesn't want it then save yourself the money and don't get her one.

I don't see the problem with not having one.

I personally don't like the look of it and my mom is not wearing one either.

My view is... It is what it is... if that is the way she wants to be then its really not worth the argument. Just don't get her one, its not going to be detrimental to your wedding. You will need to pick your battles wisely.

Sorry you have to deal with her.

My mom doesn't want a corsage either. I'm getting both moms a small nosegay. Do you think maybe she'd go for that just for pics? Who doesn't want flowers?! I don't get it. Maybe she was just having a PITA moment.

I am going to do one long stemed calla lilly wrapped with silk. Just an Idea so it is not attached to her. Maybe she does not like how it feels

I think maybe she was saying that to save you the $$ out of concern...but in the end, what's another $10 at this stage of the game....

my mother didnt have one she didnt want one either i dont blame her. dont worry knowone will notice that.

i would get one anyway just in cases she changes her mind day-of. many florists throw in an extra bout or corsage anyway depending on how much other work they are already doing.

I think she may not want one that day either...but Christine is right. Just get her one, it'll be there 'IF' - It's better to be safe than sorry.

But yeah, people don't notice these things. Some of our male 'guests' who were important and were supposed to have flowers, ended up not putting them on or something and really....i don't think anyone knew or cared. well, except for my mother! hahah

I don't think she would look like an idiot, if she doesn't want one I wouldn't even get it, that day she may regret her decision seeing all the important people have flowers but thats her doing. Give her what she wants, no flower.
