I was just talking to my mom about this last night. She is undecided if she wants one or not b/c she wants to wear nice jewelry. I told her its up to her if she wants one or not.

wow, she didn't have to say it like that.

and there are other options: nosegays, clutches, etc. i would do it anyway-- explain to her that you are sorry she feels that your weddding day wishes are stupid but that you want everyone who is important to be recognized regardless of the fact that other people already know who she is.

... and just have the florist bring her one and make her put it on. there is no reason, even if you hate corsages to say it like that! sheesh!! I hope it works out-- good luck.

Well my FH didn't want ANY man to wear flowers - so now my GMs, father, and FIL are all wearing hankies...sighhh...

I'm not a big corsage person myself. So I'm getting them a mini-clutch to walk down the aisle with. A mini version of the bridesmaids.

my mom and FMIL didnt want one either- but they liked the small clutch-nosegay- so we got those- maybe she would prefer that? if not than let it go- in the end if she doesnt want it- she wont wear it and it will be a waste

That is what I did and they were really happy with them. They enjoyed getting flowers to walk down the asile with but then they could put them down when they wanted to.

My mom and my FMIL don't want any flowers either...I'm not a fan of corsages so I don't mind that they don't want them...I don't think she'll look stupid bc she doesn't have one...no one will notice...they'll be focused on you and your fh

My mom is going to carry a very tiny boq for the pictures and that's it. She didn't want a corsage.

Your FMIL sounds like the type to say 'oh, don't get me one, I think they're stupid' and then on the day of when she's the only one without one say 'where the h*** is my corsage!' I would just get one in case this happens. JMO.
