FMIL dress?

FMIL said she heard that the bride is supposed to pick what color dress she wears...is that true? I never heard this...I was planning on letting her pick out whatever color she wants.

FMIL dress?

I don't think so. You do want her to have a color that complements your bridemaids. Also, she needs to be aware what color your mom is wearing.

FMIL dress?

No, I would let her pick what ever color she wants. I think it's passed the days when the mothers have to match the wedding colors.

FMIL dress?

I know people who have told their MILs what color to wear. My MIL bought a dress and then just checked with me for approval. She knew the bridal party's colors, so she got a color that went well. You just want to make sure that the colors all look nice in a picture. Just as an aside, my mother told me an old saying that I thought was funny - the mother of groom is just supposed to wear beige and be quite. My MIL definitely did not abide by that saying :)

FMIL dress?

I'd let her pick. I'm pretty sure that the MOB picks her color first and then the MOG.

FMIL dress?

I never knew that this whole rule existed! I'm letting my mom and my FMIL wear what they want. I trust them to do a good job in picking out dresses even though I'm sure I'll be there when they're shopping

FMIL dress?

Mine asked me what color too. (so did my mom and grandma.) I told them to pick whatever they want, just not navy (BM dresses) or white, then I kept them all informed what colors each of them were wearing as they ordered their dresses so that they weren't in the same color.

FMIL dress?

I would have liked for FMIL to ask me what color I thought of her wearing or what color my mom wants to wear so they don't clash.... It figures she will pick whatever she wants. Hopefully she has common sense not to pick the BM color, Navy. This should be interesting.

FMIL dress?

My mom originally bought a pinkish purple colors dress and Fmil was adamant about red... And she went and bought red.. Cranberry red but still red and it looked ridiculous w my moms dress. Thankfully my mom decided to change dresses and now is In a deep hunter green.. So they will look like fraakin Christmas! Great.
