To answer your question, here is what you could expect...

You and FH will both be given a no. 2 pencil and a scan-tron. You will each get a test booklet and separate a bit to take the 'test'. There will be 100+ questions (The exact number depends on if you need to answer additional sections due to living together already, previous marriages, inter faith marriage, children already, etc).

You will answer each statement as 'Agree', 'Disagree' or 'Unsure'

The questions will cover a wide range of topics such as the relationship, sex, children, families, religion / church, careers, money, social life, habits, communication, etc.

Once you are done, you hand in the test. We had to go back the following week for our results.

The results were not given as a 'grade'. There were bar graphs indicating where your strengths are in the relationship and what you agree on or what you need to discuss. Keep in mind, even if you and FH put the same answer, if it's not the 'preferred' answer, it will show up as something that needs to be talked over.

You do not have to share your answers. Just hand in all the test materials when you are finished going through it together and you will receive a certificate to show your church.

I've never heard of it either. My priest told us about pre cana and that someone would be calling us right after Thanksgiving so we can get in the January pre cana group, but he never mentioned this at all.

Do you know if it's required by every parish?

No one said anything about paying, but I am assuming its bundles into the cost we will be paying for the church (or the recommended donation I should say.) Does anyone know?

if you are getting married at St Pats everything is included in the 'donation' Pre cana and all.

It will probably be in one of the classrooms downstairs....that's where ours was.
