Re: FOCUS test
They are just what you think about life, work, family, friends ... and then they compare answers and you have to talk about it when you get the results back. There are no rightt or wrong answers. It's just time consuming.
Ex. Have you ever had feeling towards the same sex.
It's important to go to church every sunday.
You can only agree, disagree or say not sure

Re: FOCUS test
To be honest, yes it is called a 'test' but this isn't something you need to study for or have the answers to everything. There is a misperception with this test because even when you answer them, they are still not the 'correct answer' they are looking for....There were questions my FH and I answered that we felt were right for the both of us and our relationship, but we didn't give the 'suggested answer' so it was marked as something we needed to talk about....I believe there is 10-15 topics that is covers, about sex, religious background, families, financal issues, Work w/ children-- Just things to bring to your attention that you might not have ever thought about...or things to consider before getting married....FH and I have been together just shy of 7 years and we talked about all of that stuff, So it pretty easy for us...All I will say is answer the questions because you feel it is right for you and only you...don't just answer a question because you think that is the suggested answer your FH will give. You will get alot more out of it. Best of luck to you and it is nothing that you should worry about I promise. If you are true to yourself, then you will be fine!!!! Let us know how you feel about it after!

Re: FOCUS test
Definitely not something to stress over. I actually answered some questions faceitiously just to get us to talk about things! I answered uncertain to a bunch of things just to get the ball rollling....
Once you take the test, then you meet with a couple to talk over the results. I was nervous about that- but it was sooo relaxed and easy! It's confidential, and they just want to help you go over some things. It's really not a big deal at all. Take it for what it is- a chance to look at some issues that you and your FH might not have covered. It's definitely not a test in the sense of the word where you pass or fail...it's just to see what issues you need to work on. It's a good thing!
issues: how financial issues will be handled kids- how many, when to have them, how to raise them household/parental responsibilities jobs (if someone were to relocate, stuff like that) religion your respective families and how they affect your relationship and yes, sex

Re: FOCUS test
I've been a little worried about this too since I have to call the priest soon. I found this link online if anyone's interested. It has more information on the test as well as 10 sample questions: http://www.foccusinc.com/sections/foccus_content.asp?PKID=9

Re: FOCUS test
Be sure to read the question and make sure you understand them. cause me and fiancee didnt read some of them and understand them and our answers were hysterical. The couple doing pre cana thougth we were nuts, but were laughing at us.
They have a few about having a family so discuss that cause we didnt agree on those since we really never talked to much about it. We know we want kids but didnt discuss how we would bring them up.

its all agree, disagree or uncertain.
you just color in the one you want and then they put through a machine and kind of compare you & fh.
We just did it this last sunday. It wasnt so bad, I was a little nervous, but all good.
the questions are just about you, family, etc...
dont worry!!!!!

Re: FOCUS test
they just want to see if you and fh communicate about things. to see if you agree on certain things, and if not if you come up with a compromise or etc....

Re: FOCUS test
i.e agree , disagree, uncertain
1. my fh has a problem with drugs, mariju, alcohol) 2. I feel frighten by fh when he gets mad
3. there are things about fh i hope will change after marriage
4. we will share in all financial responsibilities. 5. i am comfortable in front of my fh naked
these are just afew types of things they ask, but its all private, they tell you to sit away from fh, and then they go over the questions, answers with only the two of you and they only pick out maybe 2-3 questions to discuss, unless you guys i guess are a low percentage.???
hope that helps!!!! BUt it doesnt mean anything anyway........its not pass or fail, its just to help you guys see where you stand asa couple and the areas you should discuss together.
