My son is going to be one next week....So we are getting ready to say bye to formula (yeah) He had milk for the first time today, and was fine with it. My ? is can any of you help me as to what to give my son to eat for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I am a first time mommy and clueless. We started a few things already..but I want to make sure he eats good foods and don't know where to start. Also, my Dr said he should get 24 oz of milk a day...Do I give them to him after he eats his 3 meals or at other times? Any one who can give me your ideas to set up a good eating schedule, I'd appreciate it soooo very much. I'm still in shock that the year has gone by so fast. My baby isn't a baby anymore he's becoming a little boy and mommy isn't taking it too well. THX

Re: Food Question
Some ideas for breakfast could be a scrambled egg, some yoghurt with fruit mixed in, oatmeal topped with fruit or a bowl of cereal.
I am just pregnant now so I don't have any experience with feeding a toddler, maybe you could pick up a children's cookbook to help you get some ideas. I bought Super Baby Foods, but haven't used it yet.

Re: Food Question
Caiden is now 13.5 months old. Mommy is still not taking it well! He's in daycare FT so they have him on an eating schedule there. He eats sooo good there. They have all sorts of things for breakfast. He has french toast, pancakes, eggs, oatmeal, cereal bars, etc., and for lunch he eats 1 item from each food group. He'll have a main item, then 1 fruit, 1 vegetable, 1 bread and some milk. Then they give him a snack towards the end of the day. During most of his meals they give him his sippy cup with juice, sometimes milk, and also in between he has it with his snacks. They're working on not having bottles at daycare, but it's not going well at home though. He won't take his milk in his cup at home at all.
6:00 am - Bottle 8:30-9:00 am - Breakfast 11:30-12:00 pm - Lunch
Either his cup with milk or bottle sometime after lunch before his snack.
For dinner Caiden will eat Gerber Graduates or we'll get Pizza, pastas, green beans, mashed potatoes w/gravy, chicken nuggets, etc.
I don't know about the 24oz of milk everyday. My doctor didn't say anything about that.

Re: Food Question
I was told not to give Molly more than 24 oz of milk per day so now I water down her milk in her cup since she loves to drink milk.
Molly is not a big eater of 'real' food but here are some ideas Pancakes, Waffles, French Toast, Scrambled eggs, wheat bread (this is a FAV at our house), american cheese in a pita, hummas on a pita, avocado pieces (a huge hit at our home), cooked chicken pieces or turkey pieces, ritz crackers (I get low sodium ones), pasta of all kinds, in the frozen organic section they sell veggie pancakes (like a potatoe pancake), yogurt (a must have at our house), beans- cooked to soft/mushy texture,
