Foot in mouth experiences?

So today at school I mentioned something about being shocked to hear that a girls I graduated with was pregnant with her 4th child (we're 22, and graduated in '00).

I mentioned that she got married 3 months out of high school, and just started having kids right away.

I just meant it, that I couldn't imagine having 4 kids under 5 before I was 23, but I think I offended someone at the table.

I feel so bad now.

So I was just wondering if anyone else had any foot in mouth experiences...

I'm sure that we are all guilty of a little foot in the mouth at one point or other. No worries...you didn't mean to offend and if it comes up be ready to apologize for the offense.

Ah dont worry about it, we all have those expierences.

yup... i've had more than my share of those... like the time i ran up to someone i went to high school with and gushed on about how happy i was that he and his high school sweetheart were engaged!!!!!

then he told me that they broke up

omg... MORTIFIED

Oh all the time! And since my FHs family are all completely different people, just like my family is, I am sure if I ever talk that I will have many more.

I mentioned to my aunt one time that I thought my FH's mother was too involved in her kids lives. My Aunt thought it isn't a problem. I had forgotten that she is like that and she pushes her children at everything to a point that she doesn't appreciate anything less than perfect and she knows everything they do. While I think parents should be close to their kids, IMO this is not good.

Anyway, I am sure I offended someone just by saying that!

i think i beat all of you..i work with troubled teenagers and i know the areas where you wouldn't want to live because of certain populations sooooo my neighbor askes if we can afford a house anywhere and i say 'yeah i can only afford a house in ******* where all the sex offenders live.' well turns out her mom was right there and stated 'i live in ***** and theresa grew up there.' i was totally mortified. i felt terrible for saying it..INSERT FOOT
