For all Brides Honeymooning in Hawaii.....

Original post by menc

I think we have decided that we want to go to Hawaii. I think we will be staying in California a few days and then heading to Hawaii.

Question is where are you staying, what hotels, parts, etcc...

Also, if you don't mind sharing what you spent and who you booked with.

There are soo many beautiful places I need to narrow it down before I go the agent. Thanks

Can't wait to hear about everyone's plans.

We are flying in Oahu and staying for 5 days at the Marriot Beach Waikikii too. (Jess...I'll be able to give you a review)

We are then taking the NCL Pride of Aloha around the islands for 7 days. We have read many less than desirable reviews about this ship so we have upgraded to a pretty large suite. We're hoping the extra staff and larger room will help...I guess time will tell. We LOVE Royal Caribean and have never sailed with Norwegian...but unfortunately, the only RC cruises going to Hawaii involve 5 days at sea each way...I want to see Hawaii not the middle of the ocean. So either island hopping on our own or POA is the only way.

Oh...I hear island hopping is pretty cheap and easy in Hawaii. I've 'heard' you can take flights for like $35 between islands. We may decide to do that and just pack an overnight bag and leave our stuff in Oahu and just get another room. We'll see...

Awesome thank you!

Yup - up until recently the ONLY way to get between islands was to fly. The flights are around $40 to $50 interisland (check out www.hawaiianairlines.com).

Now, they also have a superferry that runs in between islands but it takes MUCH LONGER. It's about $65 each way - it depends on which isladns you are going between.

Re: For all Brides Honeymooning in Hawaii.....

I am so glad this topic got bumped because I am in the middle of planning my Hawaii honeymoon. FH and I are having a tough time finding reasonably priced flights. I see that a lot of you are stopping in CA or Vegas, would you say that is cheaper instead of going directly to Hawaii (with a lay over somewhere)????

I think we are spending 5 nights in Kauai and 6 nights in Maui....should we look into Oahu? I don't know if we can afford going to a third island because the trip to Hawaii is already big $$$

Any info will help..thank you!

Re: For all Brides Honeymooning in Hawaii.....

for you ladies who are flying interisland...check out aloha airlines, hawaiin airlines, or mesa air for cheap fares. book the interisland flights soon cause the cheap fares are always the first to go and they get booked up pretty quickly. just an fyi!

check continental for direct flights. i booked through them to fly from jfk to oahu and oahu back to newark. it costs about $666.2 per person including tax. that's the cheapest i could find. if you leave from newark, it's probably even cheaper.

$666 out of JFK sounds like an awesome price. We're flying Delta to Vegas and then Hawaiian to Oahu.

I priced ours out on Travelocity the other night and I though I was seeing things. To go from JFK to Hawaii, then to California and then home came to less than $1500 for both of us for our flights. I thought it would be that per person.

07er crashing!! We went to Hawaii and LOVED it!!! I recommend the Hyatt in Kauai...it was so beautiful! I do NOT recommend the Hyatt in Maui...waaaayyyy too many kids and families, and the hotel looked kind of old. Have fun!!!

Re: For all Brides Honeymooning in Hawaii.....

Are there any direct flights on any airline from Oahu to JFK or LGA?
