For all of you who are 'blessed' up on top!

I was wondering if anyone as has ever thought about or researched about breast reductions?

I am thinking of looking into it because I have such bad neck and back problems. Does anyone else have this problem? Do you know of anything you can do for some relief?? I have been in so much pain lately!

Well, I am quite 'blessed' up top, but lucky for this big puerto rican ass of mine, it all balances out! If you are experiencing pain, you definitely should look into it. Good luck!

I have to say that m pain has gotten better since I started weight training and Pilates. The core muscles really help hold these bad boys up!

I know 2 people who had reduction! Let me also state for the record that I am way to 'blessed' on top. I have considered it. They said it hurt a lot after but.... was so worth it in the end! If you have back and or Neck problems Insurance should Cover it. Good Luck.

I'm larger on top also....I can only imagine what will happen after I'm pregnant. I know my aunt had this done and she is so much happier now. Sorry I don't have dr. info or anything.

I need to pipe in and see I am NOT blessed on top. Big set of A cups comin at ya. And I had visions of these big boobies after I got pregnant...yeah...nothing. small b's....

BUT my SISTER OF COURSE WAS BLESSED! And she has considered reduction becuase of the dents in her shoulders from her bra straps! I will ask her if she ever found any solutions....

Super blessed on top, I'm considering it, but I see these after photos and the scaring is just to scary for me. I dont want my nena's looking like frankenboob. The pain too is a factor. Depending on how they look after my first baby I may go through with it, a lot of my girlfriends told me that your boobies shrink some after giving birth (and noooooo I will not be breast feeding)

my sorority sister had it done and said it was the best thing she could have ever done. She had indents on her shoulders from the thick bra straps, her back and neck were constantly hurting, she was getting headaches, and just wasnt happy.

I have a big chest, but neve really considered reduction. Sometimes I get annoyed at them and they get in the way but i havent considered reduction.

if you are having neck and back problems insurace should cover it.

For relief try yoga.

i am blessed up top (as a matter of fact one of my clients said to me yesterday, 'oh i never noticed how busty you are' boy was i shocked!) anyway...i have considered the surgery, but first i'm scared that i wouln't be able to breast feed, and secondly that after i get pregant they will be big and droopy. not that i really care, but after spending $$ on the surgery it seems kind of pointless. the other thing that worries me, on the opposite side is how big they will be (without surgery) when i do get pregnant. the girls at work tease me about this all the time. i really am very conflicted on this subject. it is a toughy!

Stacy

I would love to get it done, but I was afraid I wouldn't be able to BF, so we will see after babies

I am DEFINITELY getting a reduction, but have decided to wait till after childbirth.
I don't want to do it then have to enhance my boobs after drooping from breastfeeding, so I will wait for the babies (which will be soon) breastfeed, then reduce and uplift at the same time. DH agrees with my plan too

I would love to get it but I don't know how it affects the possibility of breastfeeding in the future. I'd shrink these puppies in a second.

I'm looking into and have been through almost 85% of the procedures to get it approved by my insurance company. Now, all that's left is me writing a letter and submitting everything.
Depending on what insurance you have-the best steps I've found are:
1. Go to your primary care physician and let them know you want this done and have them refer you to a surgeon. It's important to have your dr. document any pain, etc. you're experiencing.
2. Once you go to a surgeon, they'll take pictures and write up notes supporting your case.
3. Most likely (if your insurance is like mine), they'll want more documentation of the pain, etc. so you can beat them to the chase by maybe seeing a chiropractor BEFORE you see a surgeon.

I've done all these steps and have a very strong case for the surgery. Now I just need to go the last mile!!

If you have questions, feel free to let me know!!!

Girls check out weight loss b4 you decide to do this surgery.
The scars you get from it are very very disturbing.
They look like anchors on your breast!

If you lose weight you usually lose the fat mass in your breasts, that is what causes the pain in your back!

Blessed on top..I consider it a curse!! Yes, I have considered getting a reduction!
I have 2 reasons why I personally would not..
1) My friend had the reduction done and gained weight and they grew back bigger than before! She paid for the surgery on her own and wasted all that money!

2) I hope to breastfeed when I have children. I will reevaluate the situation after I have children.

Also, in agreeing with what Theresa said....

I had a friend in high school who did this. After the surgery, she ended up loosing a great deal of weight and her breast size dropped down even more. She eventually ended up regretting having the surgery because if she had lost the weight first her bra size would have dropped to what she wanted on it's own. And she now wears padded bras to compensate for what she feels she doesn't have.

Weight lifting and Pilates also would help. I think someone mentioned this above. Before I started pilates I used to get severe lower back pain when I was menstruating. Now it is pretty much gone, I don't suffer from lower back pain anymore.

You're right T! I think a lot of breast weight is weight from all over
I've been consistently losing weight and they keep getting bigger though!

My back only bothers me occassionally (usually when I haven't worked out for a while). I find that regular exercise (to strengthen your back and abs really works). I don't know how busty you are (I'm only a single D) but if you are and you are in great pain, I would go for a consultation. I've heard stories from friends/family that have it done and they say it is the best thing they could have ever done.

Re: For all of you who are 'blessed' up on top!

I was scheduled for breast reduction but cancelled the week prior to my surgery. My DH (just started dating him at the time) talked me out of it and something bugged me about my surgeon. At the time, my biggest fear was the scarring and since I was pretty much single, well, you know.

I tried to lose weight first (not that I needed to) b/c I heard how all these girls lost their 'chest' when they lost weight. I ended up looking anorexic (according to friends & family), but the one spot I never lost any weight was my chest. In fact, when I started to gain the weight back, that was the first place it went.

I've discussed it with my DH. He knows I definitely want it done, but he's not a proponent for it. (He doesn't understand what it physically feels like.) On one hand, I want it done before kids b/c I want to enjoy my body while I'm young and can go out, etc.. On the other hand, I don't want to go through the procedure just to have it done again (or something similar) after I have kids.
