For all the little brides - I need help

Original post by smplynluv

For all those brides and bride-to-be's who are around the 5' mark, what style dress have you chosen? As you may have read, I had a mini-meltdown after my first shopping day and had been going in the completly wrong direction. If any of you have pics, please post! I want to get an idea of what someone my size would look like in a dress as opposed to the 6'+ models in all the magazines Thanks a bunch!

I'm 5'2' and I wore a trumpet style. Even the first dress I got (long story) was a trumpet style. Mix of an a-line and mermaid-style - it hugs the hips and very top of thighs and then it drops down.

It is so fustrating being short!! You just have to try all the styles 'till you find one that's right- on mine though the top isn't way long, up to the hips I guess, so the skirt is still 'normal' length. And its asymetric which for some reason seemed to make it look even better.
Well, keep trying and have fun with it.

I am 5'0 and I wore a ballgown...I am kind of curvy...small on top with big hips so I knew I really wanted a ballgown because they would work with my shape

I'm 5'2 and wearing a really poofy ballgown. I thought about me being short when I tried it on, but my mom told me it looked perfect and so did the other ladies in the store. (I don't thin they were lying b/c they helped me eliminate other dresses and ones they didn't like on me as much)

WHOO HOO!! Yea for short people!!!

I am 5'2 and I picked an A line dress (strapless) that does NOT flare too much in the skirt. The more it 'poofed' the shorter I looked. (check out my album)

YOU CAN DO IT!!!!

OOOOOOO and to repeat what I have heard over and over:

If you have bead work or something that draws the eyes up towards your face, you will look taller.

HTH!!

I'm little!! I'm 5'4' and about 110 lbs. I wore a halter top dress with an A-line bottom, I loved it and wish I could wear it again!!!!!!

I also had a detachable train bc I didn't want to have a big bustle for my small frame, but they're hard to find. Here are 2 pics:

I am 5 foot 3/4 inch and also wore a A line halter dress (see pics in album)...I wore 3 1/2 inche heels...my train wasn't too long either.
