Are you seeing your FH before your ceremony? I didn't want to because of the whole 'first time seeing each other walking down the aisle' ...but then everyone says it's good too becyase you get to go the cocktail hour. What is everyone else doing? Since we're getting married at the hall there is no down time for pics between ceremony and CH.

we're seeing eachother before. honestly, there's going to be that 'first time he sees me' moment regardless of whether it's when you're coming down the aisle or if it's set up before you start taking pictures. most photographers will have him stand with his back towards you and then walk you and have him turn around and they'll capture the moment. i just don't think it's worth missing the cocktail hour for it!

we're seeing each other before as well. i didnt want to at first, but i think this is best for everyone. we also didnt want to miss cocktail hour!

We are seeing each other before... I'm not going to miss out on some of my wedding to take pictures. The photographer can follow me around and take pictures of me stuffing my face with the finger food if he wants....

I struggled with this for a long time and then decided that we would see each other before hand. The photographer set up a great 'first sight moment' and it was nice b/c it was intimate - just the bridal party.
Best decision I made it terms of the logistics for the day. We got to enjoy the rest of the events....

I think that seeing the look on FH's face will be so priceless if he 1st sees me comming down the aisle that it is worth it to me to miss some of the cocktail hour. But my photographer said that he only takes shots 15minutes at a time. that way we wont look fatiqued or posed so I wont miss the whole coctail hour

FH and I have been going back and forth on this for the past year! And I'm 69 days and 19 hours from my wedding and we still haven't decided I really do want that special walk down the aisle moment but I don't know if it's worth wasting all that time during the cocktail hour.

We did not and we did not regret it. It was more 'inconvenient' with the photos BUT seeing is face when I walked down the stairs/aisle was unforgettable and he said he loved seeing me for the first time too when I walked down the aisle.

Oh my gosh!!! No way!!! I am most excited about the moment he sees me in the doorway with my dad!
I am making sure that my DOC gives FH and I a small plate of food to have...

We are not seeing each other before. I have 2 photographers, so FH will take family photos before ceremony, as will I. We are having a 1 1/2 hour cocktail hour so we can take pictures and still go to the cocktail hour for a little while.

To please my FH were are not seeing each other before. At first I was against this, but the more I think about it the more I warm up to the idea. Plus, I want my entrance into the reception to be grand and it really won't be if we attend the cocktail hour.

we are seeing eachother before, we are even taking the limo there together hahaa...you need to do pictures that way or you will miss all of cocktail hour, which we DONT wanna miss ;)

We are! My photographer prefersit that wayso we don't have to rush with pictures... and they usually set it up so you still have a special moment of when he sees u for the first time...like maybe he waits with his back toward you or something...and it makes for nice pics. Aaaand you get to enjoy some time alone which could be really sweet and romantic!
Besides...I think when he sees you walking downt he aisle it will still be really special

We are def seeing each other before. My FH & I aren't trying to be traditional anyway! And we LOVE our menu from the cocktail hour! We sure can eat!!!

best decision we could have made....when ppl make a big deal about the 'bad luck' of seeing each other before hand....i tell them to shove it. we had the BEST wedding day, and seeing one another before and doing pics was great. calmed both of our nerves and it made the moment so much more intimate.

We are seeing each other to take pictures before the ceremony. My hair and make up will be fresh and we will be able to enjoy our CH. You can ask your photographer to set up, create and shoot a special moment the first time you see each other.

We didn't care about missing the cocktail hour. I wanted the first time he saw me to be walking down the aisle. It’s 6 months later and my DH will occasionally tell me “I still can’t get that image of you walking down the aisle out of my head, you took my breath away…” I think it was a bigger impact than if I just walked into a private room with just him and the photographer. As for the cocktail hour, it's just food & the only person I cared about seeing right after the ceremony was my new husband. We took all our family & BP pics and a few of just us during the cocktail hour and then had about 10 minutes to enjoy each other alone and kind of ‘brace ourselves’ in the bridal suite because we knew the rest of the day was going to be a whirlwind. Then we made our 'grand entrance' into the reception.
ETA: Our reception ended at 5 and we took more 'just us' pictures afterward.
This is what I want. I really just want to see my FH's face at the end of the aisle - it is a once in a lifetime thing and all the time i'm taking to look gorgeous for him, I just visualize it as I'm walking down the aisle. It's my personal preferance. I'm actually having a hard time with my photographer about this but I could really care less about being at the cocktail hour. I'm sure the food will be great, but nothing can take the place of that one moment.

we've thought long and hard about this one and ultimately, it boils down to the fact that we really like to party and don't want to miss the cocktail hour. plus, we have almost 60 friends from college coming from OOT and we only get to see them, maybe once a year, so we want to spend as much time with them as possible!!! it's a hard decision though.

We're going to see each other before the wedding.. I know it's not traditional but to take photos before is a good thing... also the photographer we are going to have is going to set up a 'special' first time for us to meet the day of so it will be memorable.

We are seeing each other before the ceremony. I am glad that we get some time together before hand. We DO NOT want to miss the CH. THis wedding is costing us a small fortune and we are paying for it ourselves, don't want to miss a minute!
