IF YOU DON'T MIND ME ASKING..THE MONEY YOU MADE FORM THE ENGAGEMENT PARTY ARE YOU SAVING IT TO USE TO PAY FOR YOUR WEDDING OR ON OTHER THINGS....?

we saved it but then had to use it for a couple of bills we wanted payed off!

We got mostly presents but the cash that we got we put in our savings account for post-wedding.

Every penny went to wedding expenses, we opened a joint checking account only to be used for the wedding and put all of it in there and have built on it (or refilled rather) since then.

We got a TON of gifts and gift cards, and not very much $$$. All the $$$ will go towards furniture for our new house (it will be enough for a kitchen table or part of a sofa)

We saved all of ours in the our joint account which is for the house only hopefully we are hoping to never have to dip into the bank for wedding money....Just take it out from my paycheck and his money (he has his own business so the cash that doesn't go in).....

We put it in a CD until Feb 06. That seemed like ages ago when we did that, I can't believe Feb is around the corner! But, we still wont touch the $ until after the wedding

ours went into a joint savings account...we decided against putting it in our checking so we know we can't spend it and won't have access to it until about 6 months after the wedding...it'll be a nice treat when that time comes around

the money which we made for the engagment party, we put it in the bank, and we are using it to pay for our hall!!! it really helped us a lot!!

We got very lucky...we had some generous gifts and were very thankful.

Us too.. We had a very formal engagement party.. all the money we made went right towards the wedding

We had a formal enagement party with about 115 people and we only received $$$, no one brought gifts. We made out pretty well, everyone was very generous. My parents also through us the party, so noe of the money had to go towards the party. We opened up a joint account with it and didn't start spending any of it until we had to start making deposits. So the money will be used for the wedding or the house. Either way it is going to be put to good use.

WOW! We're having an enagagement/holiday party in a few weeks and I wasn't really expecting to get gifts or that much money! I mean people are asking if we're registerd (which we're not yet) but is this something I should be expecting?

We just wanted our family and friends to have an excuse to have fun.

I was really hesitant to have an engagement party, espeically since FI wanted to have a really expensive one, but the $$$ and gifts we received were a lot more than what we spent on the party. Especially since people that didn't come to the party still sent gifts.
