How many of you already got your Marriage license?
And how long did it take you to get it? I heard it only took 20 min or so to get, and others said they had to wait hours.
I am going in 2 weeks and was wondering if I should take the day off from work.

Where do you live? We went to the lslip Town Hall as they were the only ones near us in Western Suffolk that had evening hours. Took us less than a half hour, didn't have to take any time off work. And we went in May, which is a big time for marriage licenses, I would assume!

OOps I should have included where I live. We live in Manhattan.
And your right, May had to of been a big month for getting it.

It took us about 10 minutes , but we drove out to Babylon near FIL's house. We just didn't want to deal with the hassle of the lines and the ftraffic in the city.

I plan to go there. Can you tell me what their evening hours are?

It shouldn't take us long... we are way out east. I am planning on going either 1 or 2 weeks before the wedding.

We got it in Manhattan, at the city clerk's office....we were in and out the door in about 15 minutes! That was around 10:30am on a Tuesday...... I expected there to be a big wait, but it was really fast.

FYI - it usually takes longer (especially to process and receive) when you get your license in the city.

I believe they're open until 8pm on Tuesdays, but you should check that, they might have changed for the summer.

we did ours in the city.. got there just before they opened.. few people there before us but it was quick... 20 minutes.. took us a bit longer b/c there was a misspell on the license.. i was at work in midtown east by 9:45... not bad..
not worth it to take the whole day off.. unless use it to do other things!

We havent gotten ours yet - But I hear if you go early in the morning (when the clerk's office opens) You can be in and out

Just got mine. I think we were there 15 minutes. We went to Islip town hall.
