For brides living w/ FH

Original post by Bride4Mike07

Are you guys booking a hotel room after the reception to kick off your honeymoon? FH and I want to stay in a hotel room and the following day leave for Hawaii, but we're finding that the rooms are very expensive...Any suggestions, should we just stay at our home (we share the bottom floor of my mom's house, which we don't mind but ugh! )
Any recommendations in the Queens/LGA/JFK neighborhood?

We are staying in a hotel. We got a great deal because of all the rooms our families booked so we are staying there until we leave for the honeymoon that monday.

are you booking a hotel for your OOT guests for the night of or do you not really have many OOT.....our hotel gave us the bridal suite free because of blocking off 30 rooms

We have a lot of OOT guest coming from all parts of the world.....Thing is most of them fit upstairs in my mom's house. Some are staying w/ other relatives, so they told us they didn't need hotel rooms, otherwise, I would've blocked rooms close to the RH. Anyway, I think we'll do the hotel thing. We can go to the room on the 7th, drop our luggages off...and then just arrive the 8th at 12midnite, and leave at 4 am. We have a 6 am flight to Hawaii.... I'm happy about but not the flight time!

We have an early flight too. We're just going back to our home, going to sleep & leaving early in the AM. We figure, the rest of the week will be in a hotel..it would make it MUCH more complicated.. (plus, we love our apt).

If you are interested: there are tons of hotels by the airport. I'm sure they can't cost that much.

The night before, we're each staying in seperate rooms at the hotel ... he'll be in a Junior Suite, I'll be in the Bridal Suite. (we're doing that because we have a whole wedding weekend going on, with a lot of oot guests and a big rehearsal dinner near the hotel

Day of, I'll be getting ready with my girls in the Bridal Suite.

Night of the wedding, we'll both stay in the Bridal Suite.

We'll spend 1 night at home in our apartment before leaving for the honeymoon.

We did, more b/c our reception is in Nassau and we live in Suffolk

we're staying at home that night... but then again, we're super close to our church and hall, so it really didn't make sense to spend the $$$. It also avoids the issue of packing an overnight bag.

That said, we were in the same building as mom, yeah, we'd likely get a hotel room

Rather than staying near an airport (no scenery/ not terribly romantic), why not stay at a B&B on the north shore, and get breakfast in bed. Of course
I know several B&B's in port jeff... but other towns have them too.... including NYC

We're going back to our apartment. We're leaving really early in the morning--I think the flight's at 7, so we've got to leave at some ridiculous hour. We're still not sure what we're doing after the wedding! Afterparty? Because our reception ends at 5pm, there's a lot of time left. We've got to decide this soon!

We have to, as we live here in the DC area, but our RH is giving us a room the night of our reception (Saturday). We haven't done it yet, but we will book a hotel near JFK for Sunday night as we will likely fly out for our HM Monday morning, and I don't want to stay at my parents house that night as it will be full with other guests.

FH and I are staying in our hotel room suite for our wedding night.

Ditto. Since we have so many rooms booked for our guests, they gave us the bridal suite for the same price as a regular room!!!
